A necessary evil.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
RaceFace uses a different spline interface than your standard Shimano or GXP external BB. I believe its to accomodate for the larger spindles the cranks run, but I'm not quite sure. Either way, this tool is needed for install. Has a place to insert a 3/4" torque wrench, and works just fine. Wrap some old bar tape around the handle and you've got a padded grip!

Does the Job
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
The tool works just fine, it has a cutout for attaching a torque wrench. Doubles as a device to beat yourself over the head for spending $25 on a proprietary tool for your $50 bottom bracket.

Does what it needs to do
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
It's always frustrating when your new BB doesn't use the same tool that you've had in the tool box for the last 5 years, but at least RaceFace was nice enough to make it available at not too crazy a price. Not too much else to say. It is a simple tool with a simple job and it does it well

Cinch to Use
- Familiarity:

Annoying that you must have this tool for Cinch BB but the tool itself is well made. Nice that they drilled out a spot for you to attach to a torque wrench. Would have been five stars if it had some rubber on the handle.

Need for a cinch bottom bracket
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Needed to install/remove bottom bracket. Not too expensive, and even though you will rarely use it, it is nice to have on hand when needed.

Didn't want to buy it

I like the bottom bracket but why can't it be compatible with the other tool I already own?

Critical if you want to open up the BB
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Straight forward - need this thing if you want to crack open your Raceface BB. Annoying that it isn't a standard size of a GXP or something else but it is what it is if you want to run the Raceface.

Required for RF BSA30 Bottom Brackets
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I got the BB Cup Tool for my BSA30 Cinch bottom bracket. I like that it's got the cutout for attaching a torque wrench! Other than that, it works just as a BB tool should.
