Grab Moab by the arch.

Inspired by the Delicate Arch, a famous rock formation near Moab, Utah, the Lizard Skins Moab Grip is a usable tribute to one of the great meccas and birth-places of modern mountain biking. Since mountain biking's beginning, the trails of Moab have allowed us to push our bikes, bodies, and equipment to the absolute limits. With the Moab Grip, Lizard Skins is giving back. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of each pair of Moab Grips will be donated to the Moab Trails Alliance to continue to build and maintain this incredible trail system.

The Moab Grip features a raised texture that provides traction and shock absorption. You'll need quite a bit of both if you find yourself careening down Amasa Back or negotiating technical cliffside moves on the Portal Trail. With a 31mm diameter and 130mm width, there's plenty of area for meaty paws to wrap around. Since the Moab Lock-On Grip clamps into place, you won't have to worry about it rotating around your bar to send you careening over your front wheel.

The Lizard Skins Moab Lock-On Grip comes in one size and is available in Black with Blue or Black clamps.

Great grip until starts to twist

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They worked great for like 300-400 miles until I started noticing the rubber start to slack maybe 0.5-1deg twist relative to the housing. Basically the plastic tabs that locate the rubber grip to the metal clamps start to deform. So you get a little play and the grips start to twist slightly even though the metal ends are firmly secured to the bars. Just an annoyance, but not 5 star worthy.

Great but colors don't match.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Reliable as ever with the Lizard Skins and cush grip, but the photo colors definitely are not true. I was looking for a more green tint but these neon grips are most deffffffinitely safety suit yellow. Bummer. Better luck next time!

Grippy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Old grips snapped in half after a few falls this past year on my Pivot. I upgraded to these and am not looking back. They look great on the bike and function perfectly.

Big Improvement

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Big fan of this grip for two reasons:
1. Level of comfort is way better than the stock Santa Cruz factory grips
2. They include plugs for the bar ends so that you don't accidentally impale yourself. 5 stars for not getting impaled

Love it!

This locks on great! and provides even better grip. highly reccomend

Very Grippy

These grips are easy to install and lock on tight. They are also really grippy, even in the rain and over high-speed bumps. They aren't as cushy as I would have liked, but my hands will adjust. I have smaller hands and can still wrap my whole hand around them. Great colors and a durable rubber.

    Grippy Grips

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These grips are relatively soft, and incredibly grippy. They stick like glue, and they're thicker than normal grips which I find more comfortable.

    Grippy-mane

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These grips are the best to go out for a rip! I have gone through 2 pairs over 2 seasons and will probably put them on my next bike. The compound is perfect and sticks right to my gloves. I also enjoy the thicker circumference for less arm pump on longer rides.

    Classic, grippy pattern

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Moab grips have been around for a long time, and for a good reason. The compound has a great pattern that is comfortable on long rides and sticky enough to maintain solid grip. They wear a bit faster than harder rubber compounds, but they aren't too squishy or anything. Overall a solid grip, and you've got some color choices to match your bike.

    STICKY!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are a lot better than the stock grips my bike came with. I have larger hands and my stock grips were too thin. These feel like they have a little more girth to them. They also have a bit more squish and are a lot stickier than my old grips. Easy installation. And the anodized blue gives some bling. Gotta love the anodized colors that have been on mt. bike parts since the early 90's. ;)

    STICKY!

    My Go-To

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Got these grips again for the third bike in a row, still love 'em! This time I went with the red end caps which is a nice pop of color. To keep it low key the black end caps look great, I had those on my last bike.

4 bikes strong... just built up a new Pivot Switchblade for this year and once again opted for the trusty Moab grips. What I love is that they're just the tiniest bit thicker/more cushy than the super minimalist grips. If you have somewhat large hands, going for this slightly-thicker option can really help with fatigue. They also last a long time, I put around 700 miles on my last pair and they barely looked used.

    get a grip

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As far as I’m concerned, grips are grips and they work if I don’t notice them. I don’t notice the Moab, plus part of each sale benefits the Moab Trails Alliance. Do your grips do that?

I do also like the the Extra Chunky ESI grips when not rocking gloves.

    Too hard

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I didn't like the harder compound.

Great quality, just too hard for my liking.

    Awesome!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

With the stocks grips on my bike my hands would get sweaty and would slip a lot. I started wearing gloves but on hot summer days that would get uncomfortable quick. I decided to try these out and I'm really glad I did. They are super grippy even with sweaty hands. They are fairly soft but not squishy. I will definitely be gets more of these for my other bikes!

    Great Grip

Love these grips. I like a nice minimal/thin grip, but my big fat hands are a little too big to use the thinnest options out there. These are a great option for people with bigger hands who still want a fairly low profile grip. Soft enough to be comfy, but not squishy. And super grippy. As long as you find the right one for you, you really can't go wrong with lizard skins grips in my opinion. This is my third set of lock ons from them. Loved all three, only keep getting new ones for new bikes.

Update: Got a new bike this year, just ordered these same exact grips to go on it.

Voytek, I'm currently on my 5th bike that I got these grips for since their inception. Seems worth it to me to provide feedback for that, since in my opinion it's very impressive for something to work so well that I keep coming back to it despite the myriad of similar options. And for what it's worth, I have always done at least a few rides on the stock grips on each of these bikes first before swapping. At the end of the day it's obviously just a personal decision what grip you choose, but I'd like to thing my story is more of a review for the Lizard Skins brand in general.

      Excellent

Great, flat grip that still keeps your hands comfortable while you hold on.

Frequent Mountain bike use, as well as commuting. Fit great on my handlebars, and haven't shown a slight bit of movement at all. Had them for about a month, love them!
