Emporia GC3 Pro Disc Brake Wheelset

When HED designed the Emporia GC3 Pro Disc Brake Wheelset, they looked to the aerodynamic profiles of HED Vanquish wheels for inspiration and built off of the brand's innovative wide rim technology. Now, punchy and agile, the Emporia GC3 Pro is prepared to take on the challenges of gravel riding with a purpose. These wheels are meant to be gravel-crushing hoops that fly through rubble with ease, and riders will benefit from the features they offer.

Gravel riding is a discipline that comes with its own challenges, like all other styles of riding. Higher rolling resistances present a challenge, but so does varying terrain that's constantly changing. One second you're riding a perfect dirt road, the next it's washboards. HED designed the Emporia GC3 Pro Wheelset with these challenges in mind, which is why we're seeing the lightest all-carbon rim in the brand's production and a wider, 26mm internal rim width for robust durability.

HED also turned to a more seamless, tubeless setup for a firmer, more reliable hold for tire beads. Their hookless design makes for tougher rim walls so you're prepared for everything, even the unexpected. In addition, HED increased the width of the rim profile for durability, enabling tire width from 28mm up to, and beyond, 55mm. The natural compliance of a lower rim profile enables these wheels to absorb the natural vibrations and distortions of gravel riding.

We mentioned that the Emporia GC3 Pro are the lightest wheels in the HED lineup, but it's also worth mentioning this wheelset's climbing and cornering abilities. Because of that durable, lightweight combination, the Emporia GC3 Pro wheelset works with you in uphill propulsion. Everything stays in check on descents, where cornering is met with ease.
