Gore-Tex goodness for your lower half.

A perfect pairing with the autumn-ready Element Gore-Tex AS Jacket, the Gore Bike Wear Element Gore-Tex AS Men's Pants perform the same set of tricks to make you nearly impervious to those chilly fall days, only for the lower half of your body.

The Element Gore-Tex AS Men's Pants are made with a true 2.5-layer construction, which combines an outer layer that carries the color and reflective details, a Gore-Tex layer, and an inner, protective scrim that only really counts as half a layer since it's integrated in the Gore-Tex fabric. The Gore-Tex is the important part, as that's where the moisture and thermal management goes down: water out, warmth in. Gore intentionally adds the modifier "durably" to waterproof and windproof because this jacket won't lose its resistances over the course of a season's use and/or in the wash.

Still, the Element Gore-Tex pants are remarkably light and comfortable. The waist is drawcord adjustable and the knees are pre-shaped for natural movement with you as you ride. The reinforced seat is also formed to minimize shifting and bunching of the fabric as you pedal. For practicality's sake, there's a zippered rear stow pocket, and the piping down the legs and all of the pants' logos are reflective for added visibility when the sun goes down.

The Gore Bike Wear Element Gore-Tex AS Men's Pants come in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large, and in the color schemes Black and Black/neon yellow.

Great lightweight pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

This is my go-to emergency rainwear and camp pant for off-road touring trips. It is lightweight, reasonably durable, and fits great. The real selling point, though, is the breath-ability which is really second to none among other waterproof outerwear I have owned.

Gore Bike Wear makes the best and the Element is no exception. I am glad you like them!

Great commuting pant

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Great pants for commuting in the rain / crappy conditions. They keep our the water & wind really well but don't run too hot (as you'd expect from gore-tex). I generally prefer side pockets but the pants are light and super packable as is, so no complaints there. I also like the giant neon yellow "please don't run me over" stripes on the backs of the legs. Fits as expected.

Runs very, very small and cuffs too wide

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: L

It's amazing material, well constructed and perfectly finished. It's just way too small for the size listed. Also, the ankle cuffs are too wide for bicycling IMHO and would be eaten by the chain rings in a heartbeat.

Watch out for the size

  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

I ordered these and they look very nice. The problem is that they are quite large. I ordered a medium as I have a 31 to 32" inseam and a 32" waste. They were huge. Way to big around my waste and way too long.

Excellent Biking Gear

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These trousers are excellent and I recommend them to all bikers! They are water resistant, yet breathable so they remain comfortable. I use them to ride back and forth to work and I often ride in winter temps of -3C and stay comfortable in this gear. Plus they are very durable. T If you think you want them - buy em!

Nice product, but a wet weather pant

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

These seem like a nice product, and Gore is always top quality. I was looking for something to wear for cold weather riding - not wet weather. I generally don't mountain bike in the rain, as it tends to be too slick on these New England roots and rock gardens. While these pants appear to be good for rainy days, I was hoping for material that would be a little more supple (and quieter) than wearing nylon rain pants, which is what these felt like to me. A good product, but I thought the description was a tad misleading.
