Small bikes and compact frames of all sizes have long been troublesome with their difficulty in allowing you to pull a bottle from a water bottle cage. There are oftentimes such little space in between the top of the bottle and the bottom of the top tube that it's nearly impossible to get a bottle out of the cage (especially on the seat tube but also on the downtube) without forcing you to wrench it sideways from the cage and unintentionally almost ripping your cage off the frame in the process. The Arundel Sideloader Water Bottle Cage was designed specifically to address this. Rather than forcing you to pull (or attempt to pull) your bottle fully upward, its minimalist profile allows you to pull the bottle up just a bit, then to move it outward to prevent the top of the bottle from smacking the bottom of the top tube. And, truth be told, the cage has such a neatly sculpted shape that many folks choose the Sideloader for looks alone. It fits any size bottle -- tall or short. It's available in Matte Black, Oil Slick, and Gloss carbon with two different decal colors -- Red or Silver.- Side entry cage eliminates issues with low-clearance frames
- Carbon construction is lightweight and also stiff for bottle security

Side load 'em if you got 'em
If you need a side loader, want lightweight and are OK with carbon these do the trick. Many compact geometry frames can benefit from side loaders. The finish surprised me. I got the "oil slick" described as glossy on the mfgr's website...and they are glossy, kinda, but not all over. They're glossy on the inside and a kind of hybrid gloss/ matt on the outside.I don't really care anymore, you'll forget about it too after they're installed. But I wasn't satisfied when I first got them. Now I hardly notice. How do they work? They work fine.
Impressive Retention
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Once I upgraded to a piggyback shock on my MTB, the side loader was a must. I was skeptical about retention when ordering but I've been using this cage racing enduro through the chunkiest, gnarliest, terrain you can imagine and sure enough, there my bottle sits for a cold sip at the bottom of the stage. Pulling the bottle is easy but returning takes a little practice since the cage holds the bottle so tight. If you've got a special bottle like I do, you can trust this cage to hold on to it forever.
Low Profile
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
If you're running a bigger shock and are limited on space this is a great option. This was the only cage I found that would accommodate a water bottle for the HD4.
Put your bottle in it
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Solid lightweight cage. It works well on my mountain bike, where the shock prevents me from using a traditional style bottle cage. It's very well made and can definitely take a beating.

What is the dimension (mm) between the points in the attached image? My frame is a tight fit and I am looking for a sideloader cage that can be mounted low.
Expensive but so worth it

Great for smaller frames or if you are running a frame bag. Holds bottles securely over the roughest terrain makes these cages worth every penny.
Excellent Cage
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Very little to add to the other reviews. This cage is the business for full-suspension mountain bike frames. it weighs very little, and is strong and durable. Pull the bottle out sidways and throw it back in any way you please. the Sideloader will grab the bottle and hold it tight.
easy access
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Arundel cages are my first choice in carbon cages. They will allows hold your bottle with the grip of King Kong and they look great also. The Sideloader and Othersideloaders are perfect for small frames or easy access on the mountain bike. I would not pick another carbon cage for any of my builds.

Will this fit the larger diameter Podium Chill bottles? http://www.competitivecyclist.com/camelbak-podium-chilljacket-insulated-water-bottle-21oz
Stylish and Functional
Carbon fiber construction means this versatile cage is lightweight and stylish. My wife prefers to use her left hand to grab her bottle so she uses the Sideloader on top of the downtube. Her size small frame and suspension linkage would make most bottle cages feel cramped. Not so with the Sideloader. The bottle is easy to grab when she needs a drink and holds securely when she doesn't.
I have a 48 frame, and the camelback valves are now to big fit onto the seat post cage. I own a side loader cage already but need the cage to sit lower on the seat post. Will this cage do the trick?
It depends on exactly what you have right now; but being that these are designed to specifically work on smaller frames, it's worth a shot! I would be very confident that this would resolve your problem.

All hail to the sideloader
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
The side loading cage is really awesome--so glad I came across it when I was looking at fitting my new bike. The reviews on this one were really encouraging so gave it a go and am really pleased I did. It just makes getting to that water bottle so much easier as well as returning it. I think you might also be able to fit in a larger water bottle with the side entry. Liked it so much that I got a sideloader for down tube.
Does what it says

Very good bottle cage easy in and out not the lightest cage but close. Much easier to get bottles in and out than standard cages great for smaller frames and odd shaped mountain bikes

it's all the cage
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
First bottle cage I’ve used in 10+ years. Aesthetically, it disappears into my HD3’s frame, and is super accessible while on the move.
Hi Jeff,
Expect this cage to hold bottles over any terrain you ride on. This is one of the best cages out there for smaller frames or full-suspension frames with tight clearance for a bottle.

Fantastic Bottle Cage
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Purchased both the left and right handed cages for my bike. I've had trouble in the past fitting bottles on my bike because the frame is just so small, but with these cages not only can I fit two bottles on, but I can fit two normal size bottles with zero issues. Would highly recommend this product. Great quality and a good value.
Great Design
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Bought both left-and right-handed cages. Left-handed one goes on the seat tube & becomes right-handed. A great design and easy to use. I have a medium (55cm) frame and really like how effortlessly the bottles come out and how well the cages hold them in place. A good value when they are on sale.

Ridiculously Convenient
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I ride a small frame size (51cm on my current road bike) and with normal cages can't really fit anything larger than a 16oz bottle, and sometimes those are a tight fit. Having side access makes it way, way easier to stay hydrated on long rides here in the 90+ degree Ohio summer.

It's not that they're carbon...
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
They hold bottles snug yet easy to get in and out of the sideloaders. On sale, a great purchase.

Great bottle cage
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Like most of us, I have a small quiver of bikes and as such, had a wide assortment of bottle cages - whatever was available and inexpensive at the time of the build up. Not sure why it never occurred to me, but "you get what you pay for" also applies to bottle cages. After having these on one of my bikes for a year, I have gradually replaced all of my cages with the side loader/other side loader combo. I ride a smallish frame and these allow easy access to the bottle even on the mtn bike where there is little room. Overall, a great product and well designed with improved ease of access and better water bottle retention.

Easy in, easy out
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
The side loader makes it way easy to get bottles into and out of its cage even when totally gassed from hard efforts on the road bike, or when you need to hurry up and get a drink before the next rock garden on the mountain bike. Without the requirement to "thread the needle" with your water bottle, you can just grab it and pull in a natural motion to get your drink.
This cage is for your downtube if you pull the bottle right-handed. If you grab the bottle lefty, or want to pull rightward and need a cage to go vertically on your seat tube, you'll want the OtherSideloader.
You have any trouble losing bottles out of these? I've been spitting bottles out of cheaper plastic cages (Bontrager RL, mostly) and I'm looking to upgrade as much for security as for the tight clearances on my new carbon frame.
