Wrench's Best Friend

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I work in a shop and probably use this tool at least 20 times a day for over a year now so obviously it's sturdy enough for commercial use. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the handle is actually offset from the driver and it's length is not by chance. It allows you to leverage perfectly for those way too tight cassette lock rings yet provides just the right leverage to achieve that perfect 40nM torque setting for most lock rings. The hollow end is just a bonus allowing you to remove cassettes with skewers still in place. All in all, Abbey does what they do with another perfectly designed, highly durable, every Wrench's best friend.

Great tool

Ok, kinda expensive but it makes cassette work that much easier. And it's made from quality steel. I bought this because my $5 Park cassette tool cracked. No more fumbling with separate cassette tool/ wrench. Surprised Park didn't come up with this design!

Simple and works perfectly

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The adapter i used to use is now resting in the toolbox, this is perfect, one tool does it all for cassette or center lock.

Your toolbox needs this.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Changing cassettes is traditionally a frustrating balance of wrangling a lockring tool, wrench, and chain whip with just two hands without also getting injured by the sharp-toothed object you're trying to work on. This tool kicks those worries to the curb and just makes sense. I'm not sure why more tool companies haven't switched over to this type of design - it makes cassette maintenance a breeze.

I use it all the time!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I clean my cassette about every 1.5 weeks by taking it off and putting it in a ultrasonic cleaner. This tool makes it so easy! I use to fumble a lot with the wrench and the cassette removal nut...no more!

Every 10 days!

I use this tool every 10k miles, and it’s still worth it.

Sure beats those tiny cassette tools that always slip.

you just need one

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got tired of borrowing one of these on the not to often occasions I was changing out a cassette. Way less hassle to own one and this one has worked very well in the 7 or 8 times I've used it.

No Need For an Adjustable Wrench

You don't need to carry around an adjustable wrench to unlock your cassette like most of the "nut" style tools. The Abbey also gives you great leverage when loosening and tightening your cassette.
