We use the HoldUp+2 Add-On Compact Hitch Platform Bike Rack Add-On to extend the capability of the HoldUp Compact without rethinking our entire setup. Designed as a modular expansion, it integrates directly into the existing rack structure to increase total carrying capacity to four bikes while preserving the original rack’s loading height and balance.

Each additional tray uses Yakima’s wheel-only retention system to avoid frame contact and protect painted and carbon surfaces. The add-on supports wheel sizes from 20 to 29 inches with tire widths up to 4.8 inches and accommodates wheelbases ranging from 34 to 50 inches, making it compatible with road, gravel, mountain, and electric mountain bikes. Adjustable offset trays help stagger bikes to reduce handlebar and pedal interference during transport.

The add-on maintains full functionality of the rack’s remote three-position tilt system, allowing it to fold flat when unloaded or tilt down for rear vehicle access with bikes mounted. A built-in lock loop allows for optional bike locking solutions.
