28mm and 25mm widths

Was looking for an inexpensive natural sidewall tire...these were $24.99. Read a review that said they run narrow...so bought 25mm. Put on my 23mm wide (outside dimension) rims, and they inflated to 29mm - pretty fat, but fit great in my 2017 Fuji SL Elite. Ride great, and took them up and down Sassafras Mountain (SC) and over to Brevard (NC) via See Off Mtn & Becky Mtn Roads. Be sure to not overinflate, as with a lot of volume effective pressure at the rim wall is very high even at 90 psi! Liked them so much, wanted a less wide pair for an older "tight clearance" frame (2007 BLUE RC7) - a snug fit as the 25mm inflated to 26mm on 24mm wide rims (outside width). So ordered 2 more sets of 25mm (figure can't mix-and-match and keep a cool look like you can with all black tires...at this price, might as well keep some on hand). May stick the 28's on my 1985 Bianchi Trofeo as it has lots of clearance. Rode the 25mm on the local race pace group ride and no problems. My high end tires are 320 tpi, but at 150 tpi these are still a nice ride (remember that a lot of high end tires are at this or below...127 tpi being a common thread count). I am an old dude (over 60) and have ridden a lot of different bikes and tires and wheel combos...so am pretty happy with the price and performance of this tire...though I have only been riding them for about a month (the 28's) and have only 4 rides of about a total of 200 miles on the 25's.

Vittoria Rubino Pro Limited Edition

I have used the all black versions of this tire (700x25mm) for several years and found them to be very durable. I typically get a year's worth of road miles, about 6,000, per set. The skin wall limited edition Rubino Pro tires are no different, and I really like their classic looks for my vintage steel road bike.

Bad set of tires?

I purchased my 5th pair of vittoria rubino pros, since they have been a very good reliable dependable tire. However this last set I purchased was the worst tire I have had. In 31 days I had 5 flats. I had to restock my tube inventory. I hadn't had a flat in months with my old set of rubinos. With the new set I had a flat the second ride with them installed. Then I had a simultaneous front and back flat at the same time. Then I had a rear flat 2 times on 1 ride. I checked the tires for anything that might be stuck like glass or something. Nothing. So not sure if just this set was bad. I installed an old pair of gp 5000s I had sitting here. No flats so far. So it's not the rim tape or the wheel.
