Why We Like The Troy Lee Designs Stage Mips Helmet
Full-face helmets offer the best level of protection for mountain biking, but are often cumbersome and lack the ventilation needed for anything other than downhill. Enter the Stage Mips Helmet from Troy Lee Designs. An impressively low weight combined with extensive ventilation make the Stage Mips our choice for enduro-style riding or racing, where technical descents worthy of a full-face helmet are mixed in with climbs and long transfer stages. It's still downhill certified, ensuring it can hold up to high-energy impacts if you're riding DH or bike park, but the lightweight and highly-ventilated design make it much more enjoyable for the rides when you have to earn your descent first.

Good fit and quality

I wear a MD size motocross helmet and this one in MD/L fit perfect. They include extra pads with various thickness to customize to your own comfort. Very light and breathable, also can wear sunglasses or goggles just fine.

Great Helmet
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I?ve been riding with this helmet for about a year now. Super-light, comfortable, and cool. Only marginally warmer than my half shell. Use it for chairlift serviced downhill and gnarlier downhill terrain that i need to climb for. It is cool enough that you can climb with it on. Also a great trail helmet for cooler temps. Has held up well to a year of use with zero issues. Highly recommend.

Excellent Vent; Light; Mysterious Color
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Yet another quality helmet. Extra paddings came with the box. If your head circumference is right at borderline, I suggest you go one size bigger. Ventilation is perfect. One thing I have noticed in both my Stage and A1 purchases is that the color on the photo does not always match that on the actual products. E.g. I bought the green camo, when it is actually blue-ish (see attached). I like better the actual color on Stage, but had to return A1 for the color reason. TLD needs to fix their photos.
