Why We Like The Helium Pro Bike Rack

Incredibly lightweight and unbelievably easy to use, the Thule Helium Pro Bike Rack has a strong, yet featherweight aluminum construction and quick-release Hitch Switch to make sure installation and loading and unloading bikes aren't a fifteen-minute-long cursing session.

Easy, breezy, no-tool installation saves you tons of frustration, and once it's on, fiddling between rides is kept to a minimum thanks to the aforementioned Hitch Switch system, which folds down and tilts away from your car for easy rear access. The industry-leading seven-inch spacing between bikes ensure protection on the road, while confident stability and fit comes with the integrated anti-sway design that prevent bike-to-bike contact and even folds away when not needed. Narrow cradle arms accommodate a wide range of bikes from your child's beginner bike to your off-road rig, which are safe during pit stops thanks to the integrated, retractable cable that easily locks the bikes down to prevent theft.

  • Aluminum construction saves weight while retaining strength

Redesigned and not better

We had no choice but to replace a Helium 2 due to a broken part that Thule could not replace. The new model is higher and has a better hitch mechanism, but has awful ratchet straps instead of the very easy to use rubber straps. Why the dumb redesign I don’t know.

This rack is just right!

I recently purchased the Helium Pro Three to transport our two bikes. I went with the three bike version vs. the two bike version to allow a bit more space between the two bikes. This rack is super! I have a factory 2" receiver on my Jeep and the rack works beautifully. It's light but extremely sturdy and well constructed. Everything works as it should. It was a worthwhile purchase. In this world today, you get what you pay for. You buy cheap, eventually you replace cheap. If you do your research and buy quality products and take care of your purchase, you will be satisfied for a very long time.

Fits on 4Runner!

It’s easy to assemble and reliable. I used for my trek mountain bike and no problem so far. It comes in a box with everything you need. You can feel how this product is well designed.

Super Lightweight

I have used the Helium Pro a few times now and its perfect for taking my older model touring bike from home to the bike paths. My number one reason to love the Helium is a tie between the overall weight (one arm carry on-off the truck) and the fact that it secures very tightly to my 2 inch receiver (no bouncing around while driving). I have put my flat bar touring bike and mountain bike on it together and there is plenty of room to spare. Assembly was easy, the integrated lock is easy to use and the tilt feature lets me get into the back of the truck if I need to.

9043PRO 3 bike hitch rack

I purchased this rig to haul just 2 bikes because it has ample separation to avoid abrasion contact with each other. Awesome! I however neglected to consult the manual and mounted it to the rear of my 24 foot long camper. Follow the manual. Do not do it. The unit was subject to frequent up and down whipping motion which resulted in the self destruction of a fine product and the resulting damage to both of our rather expensive bicycles. I will be buying another Thule product that is appropriate for this use.

Lightweight & Easy to Use

Just got this rack. It is easy to put together, lightweight and easy to install. The tilt function is really nice. The only complaint we have are the straps. They are difficult to get off once you've secured them. You have to find just the right spot on the strap to get the strap loosened and it's very difficult. You shouldn't strap them down super tight or you'll never get the strap and bike off. I did have 1 bike fall off the holder but could have been from various reasons. Overall it's a nice rack, just the straps could use some re-engineering.
