Why We Like The Thule Epos 2 With Lights
When spring rolls around and the bikes come out of storage, we get out and ride every chance we get. The Thule Epos 2 With Lights helps us get to the trailhead in safety and style. With a 2-bike capacity, integrated tail lights, and a license plate holder, the Epos 2 With Lights takes a standard hitch-mounted bike rack to the next level. This rack can accompany two bikes of all sizes and disciplines with up to 3.2-inch-wide tires and up to 1350mm wheelbases. The included locks lock our rack to the car and our bikes to the rack for added peace of mind, and the rack can fold up when not in use for a small footprint on the back of our vehicle. If we want to take the rack off the back of our car, the included wheels on the bottom make transporting our rack back into storage a breeze, and the tilting feature allows us to access our trunk even when the rack is loaded with bikes.

There's good and bad
This is my second Thule hitch bike rack. First one was a T2 Pro XTR which I loved, but I bought an E bike and needed a rack that worked with a walk-up ramp. The Epos 2 is that rack. It's very easy loading my heavy e bike which is what I needed since I can't lift the weight I used to. The strapping system takes time - you have to figure it out and get the pedals the right way and it's sometimes not easy. Once secured, there are no worries. Since this sticks out so far, the lights (to me) are a necessity for safety. However, it is a severe detriment that this rack - sticking out as far as it does - does not fold up when not in use on the car like my other Thule did. In my eyes, this is a major disappointment and is not safe. People see the rack when bikes are on it. With no bikes on it, people do not see it sticking out as far as it does. I literally have to try to find a parking spot near no one, or where I can back up with woods behind me. It's hard to believe they did not make this rack able to be folded up against the rear of the car like their other racks. Had I known this, I would not have bought it. So do your research.

This is a great rack.
Easy to use, secures the bikes well without frame contact and has enough room to haul different styles and sizes of bikes without any contact between bikes. What really sets it apart from other racks is the ease of installing and removing from the vehicle as well as how compact it is for storage. It is light and when folded it is easy to move around.

Great rack!
The Thule Epos was easy to hook up to our 2 29er emtb. The license plate mount was a little difficult to figure out, but a quick online search showed a Thule video on the procedure.

EPOS - 2 Bike with Lights
I am a long-time Thule user. Over the years I have expanded my inventory of Thule accessories and I have enjoyed using them on my many trips and activities. I recently purchase an EPOS bike rack with lights. I must say this has proven to be one of the best Thule products I have used. It is sturdy, secure and easy to use. As an proud Thule user, I highly recommend this bike rack for both casual and serious bike enthusiasts.
