Heat management is one of the most underrated factors in trail performance, and the Specialized Ambush 3 was engineered with that reality at the center of its design. The internal composite AirCage creates a structural framework that holds the helmet away from the head while maintaining a low, compact profile that won't catch wind or snag on branches mid-descent. Paired with Specialized's 4D Cooling system, the result is continuous, directional airflow through the helmet that actively pulls heat away from the head during sustained climbs and technical efforts.

Protection is built around Mips Air Node Pro integration, one of the most advanced rotational impact management systems available in a trail helmet. The Air Node Pro allows the helmet to move independently from the head during angled impacts, reducing rotational forces.

Fit and retention are handled by the BOA Fit System featuring FS1, which provides micro-adjustable, 360-degree wrap retention and pairs with a FIDLOCK magnetic buckle for fast, one-handed closure on the trail.
