Why We Like The Smith Pursuit ChromaPop Sunglasses
Smith's backcountry-oriented Pursuit ChromaPop Sunglasses give us the coverage, clarity, and comfort necessary when bagging peaks, summiting skin tracks, and mountaineering on skis. The large, goggle-like shape and ChromaPop lens offer a wide field of vision with colorful, high-contrast views, all in a lighter and airier style than goggles could provide. Adjustable nose and temple pads keep a close fit, even when we're speeding downhill, and included nose guard and side shields deliver extra coverage from the sun's glare.

Good luck getting replacement parts
Had these for less than a year and one temple arm busted after a small fall backcountry skiing. Smith doesn't stock replacement arms and won't honor their warranty policy, so you're kind of screwed if anything happens to the arms.

giant on my normal sized head
the pursuits are good at what they say they do. they don’t stay on, though - and there’s no way to tighten the fit. I wear a size M in helmets from smith and have no issues with the fit of the wildcats. I don’t trust these to stay on for skiing, mountaineering, or biking. used them for mountain biking today and they were blocking my vision within a minute of starting on the downhill, and I had issues with them staying on all winter for mountain pursuits.

Worked great!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought these for a trip on Mt Shasta in April. They are really well made but fairly light. the lenses work well for a super wide range of lighting from extremely bright in the middle of day to dimmer sunset. I found them quite comfy and basically wore them for my whole trip. The included features (nose shield, side shields) are all nice and easy to install/remove.

My face is not that huge
Us normal faced people would love a pursuit style sunny in the bobcat size. I know many people who would love to love these, but they are simply too big! Bobcat is the perfect size for smaller faces and still has that goggle sized fit.

Almost perfect but some aggrivating issues persist
Having used these glasses for a lot of backcountry skiing this season, including a traverse of the Haute Route, I feel like I can provide some meaningful feedback. For their intended purpose, they are excellent. Fit, coverage, and optics are all fantastic. The lens works well in bright alpine/glacier sun at 3000+ meters. I didn’t experience any eye fatigue during whatsoever. Very very happy. However, one big issue is that the ends of the arms will scratch the inside of the lenses when the glasses are folded and stored inside their provided case. This scratching is enough to be noticeable while wearing the glasses. This is frustrating. I feel that I will have to 1. replace the lens and 2. add protective silicone tips to the ends of the arms. I don’t feel that this is something I should have to do for glasses this expensive. One other minor complaints include the side shields as others have mentioned. They do not seem to want to be removed; I fear that if I try they will break. So mounted they will remain and that will limit the versatility of these glasses. Aside from those two issues, these remain excellent glasses that I am happy to own and would recommend to anyone.

Exceeded expectations
The photochromic lens with chromapop is amazing, the VLT range is superb and combined with a perfect field of view and lightweight frame I forget I'm wearing them

Buy a pair, you won't regret it.
Excellent fit and finish. Blocks out almost all of the glare that usually comes in through the sides.

Greatish
Awesome fit and design. Unfortunately my nose pad already stopped functioning properly in just 3 days of use. Under engineered component for sure. Kinda sad.

Love em!
In love with these glasses. Took a face plant trying to land a jump while snowboarding. Landed right on these glasses! To my amazement there wasn’t a scratch on the lens. Definitely recommend for those snowboarders who don’t care for googles but still want to protect your eyes from all the wind. The lens will fog up but I feel like all glasses and goggles do that so it isn’t a deal breaker. The strap on the back is a nice touch.
