Why We Like The Network MIPS Helmet
We live for the all-day rides, carving our way up dramatic canyons, cruising through miles of wild vineyards, and along coastal highways — but admittedly, we're not always so lucky to have the time. Often times we're limited to our daily commute to get in the weekday miles, and crave equipment that is versatile enough to bounce back and forth from one to the other. Designers at Smith seem to have received our asks, and answered thoroughly with the Smith Network MIPS Helmet. All new for 2018, the Network Helmet finds an uncanny balance of style, versatility, and performance, packing in MIPS and Koroyd technology to protect, with modern design and ventilation to keep you looking, and feeling cool, whether on your commute or your all-day epic.
Smith's Koroyd technology is found in the funny looking layer of honeycomb tubes that run beneath the outer shell and more traditional EPS foam throughout the helmet. It's made of thousands of tiny, extruded co-polymer tubes that absorb impact but have a fenestrated surface that allows for a level of breathability impossible to achieve with solid EPS foam while absorbing a claimed 30% more energy. Plus, it's pretty cool looking, especially in Smith's mix of contrasting and complementary color schemes.

This helmet saved my life
I had a bad road bike crash recently. Was airlifted to a spinal facility with fractured vertebrae, ribs and a pneumo thorax. I am on the mend but my new Smith Network MIPS helmet did not survive. It did the job it was designed to do - protect my head. Well worth every cent.

It might of saved my life or concussion
I’ve always preferred Smith Helmets. I just recently had a bike accident on my road bike. I was too fast on a turn and crashed into the woods. I came out with a dented helmet and no concussion. I think MIPs helped to avoid the concussion

Sunglasses issue
I’ve ridden 3 networks now for about 5 years without issue but my recent one will not hold onto sunglasses for the life of it. Disappointed in this feature of an otherwise great helmet

Great style and color selection.
Great style and color selection. Would welcome options for additional padding, especially on top. Any suggestions? (I'm a senior male citizen with thinning hair.)

Best all around helmet!
This is my second of these helmets. I wear it on road and gravel rides. I can’t say enough good things about this helmet. It’s comfortable, matches any sunglasses you want to wear, and it’s protective. This is my second one because my previous one saved my noggin on a gravel ride where I got a little fast into a corner. Smashed myself into a tree at high speed, seperated my shoulder, and caved my helmet in. Kept my head safe from the impact. When I was able to get back on the bike I was more than happy to get another one of these to keep me safe out there.

Decent but with flaws

Generally happy with the look and comfort of the helmet. The way the adjustable straps are designed tends to make them want to roll over in front of or behind my ears rather than laying flat, which is annoying and no amount of adjusting has fixed, and for some reason the chin strap length keeps slipping out. The "Koroyd" honeycomb panels also interfere with my stowing sunglasses in the vents, making them prone to slipping or falling out entirely with even gentle head movements - issue is consistent with sunnies from POC, Roka, Tifosi.

The Networks MIPS is a Horrible Helmet
Legitimately dangerous. Genuinely terrible product. Shattered in a week. Posting a review for 4th time to demonstrate they delete negative reviews and sending to the powers that be.
