Why We Like The Barra ChromaPop Polarized Sunglasses
Smith certainly styled the Barra Chromapop Polarized Sunglasses for the streets, there's no doubt about that, but subtle undertones really optimize these lenses for fishing. The Chromapop lenses filter two specific, unwanted wavelengths of light that cause eye fatigue and color confusion in order to deliver greater definition and popping colors. The skies will look bluer, the grass greener, and the lake will be all the more beautiful when we pull a rainbow trout out of the water. Smith treated the backside of each lens to reduce glare when we're fishing away from the sunlight.

Barra glass lens
Great lenses but frame is not good for fishing, which is what these were bought for. They look good but are not comfortable. Rubber and frame are separating and cracking after only a few months which was disappointing. Very forward heavy, even with croakies they slide off if you're looking down, which is almost constant while fishing. Better off going with the Guide's or a plastic lens to balance the weight.

Nice glasses, great service
These glasses have great frame material and VERY large lenses, which make them great for progressive-focus lenses. Smith, unfortunately, negated one of my prescription lens focus specifications, but they gave me a credit (not as much as the glasses) and I had a local optometrist install lenses with the correct focus.

Broke after one drop
Wore these twice, dropped once and they broke. I’m not a tall guy and these broke after they fell off my hat onto an LVP floor. They weren’t slammed on the ground or sat on. They are pretty bulky and have a very small, plastic connection point to the hinge which is where they snapped. This is my 3rd pair of Smith sunglasses and my previous ones took way more abuse both on and off the river.

Functional shades for all my hobbies
These shades do everything. I only wish Smith would make a Barra "slim" edition that would fit my small face better.
