The lighter side of world-class strength.
Renthal made its name over the decades by crafting some of the toughest, smartest, and winningest motocross components in the world. As of 2010, the company turned its attention to the world of mountain biking, and since then has landed no fewer than six world championships to its name. Want to experience some Renthal excellence yourself? Bolt the Renthal Fatbar Lite to your rig.
Ringing it at a mere 270g for a 740mm wide bar, the Fatbar Lite's numbers are impressive right off the bat (especially at this price). Constructed of 7000-series aluminum, the bar's been tapered and balanced to optimize it for a superb blend of strength and low weight. The shot-peened finish, where millions of tiny steel pellets are fired at the bar, lends the bar its textured surface but also notably increases the bar's fatigue life, as does the hard anodizing process that also gives it its distinct gold finish. In short, the bar will last through many bikes, which is why the graphics are chemically applied and then over-cured onto it, ensuring that they're not going to flake or fade as do so many others.
The Renthal Fatbar Lite is 740mm wide and comes in four different levels of rise: 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, and 38mm. It weights 269-272 grams, depending on which you chose. The bar has a seven degree backsweep and a five degree upsweep and comes with the Gold finish only.

- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I did not buy these on C. Cyclist but I still want to review them.
Great bars. I've had 2 heavy crashes: one on my maiden ride and 2nd ride. I did not crash because of the bars though. Point is: they are tough and are crash proven.
Regarding the rise, I bought the 30mm ones. I used to have 760mm with 13mm rise and I like the feeling on these better. More precise on technical terrain and overall makes the bike a bit more playful. I ride AM mainly.
Color wise, when I was looking for bars, I did not want to get the renthal's because they had no color option. I was convinced on getting them and it turns out the color is great. A very neutral goldish tone that will pair well with most bikes. If you are unsure of the color don't worry about it, unless your bike is all bling bling.
