Pivot built the Shadowcat to succeed the Mach 5.5 without inheriting its weight, engineering an Ultra-Light Hollow Core carbon frame that undercuts even the brand's own XC-leaning Trail 429 while still carrying 140mm of rear travel. The dw-link layout is tuned to resist bob at that travel number rather than just survive it, which is the difference between a light bike that pedals well and one that only looks good on a scale. A 65.8 degree head tube angle and 430mm chainstays round out a geometry built for quick direction changes, not high-speed stability alone.
