Run-inspired for the trail.

Taking design cues from running shorts, the Pearl Izumi Women's Journey Short offers unrestricted range of motion with its scalloped-hem and relatively low-cut silhouette. Its polyester outer provides lightweight, fast-drying comfort with mesh side panels for extra ventilation on sweltering hot rides. You'll appreciate the elastic, snap-closure waist for a secure fit when you're negotiating trail obstacles, such as rock gardens and root sections. Plus, there's a center-back pocket for holding small snacks and trail accessories.

Featuring a detachable liner with integrated Women's MTB 3D Chamois, the Journey Short keeps you comfortably padded during epic rides and longer trail loops. This chamois is constructed from Minerale 37.5 polyester with embedded carbon particles that spread out built-up moisture for increased evaporation rates. It is pre-shaped for a more comfortable feel, and its Pressure-Relief Tech optimizes bloodflow.

  • Lightweight, quick-drying polyester
  • Mesh side panels
  • Elastic waistband with snap-closure
  • Center back pocket
  • Detachable liner with the Women’s MTB 3D Chamois

Good quality, poor fit for me.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XS

I really liked the overall construction and quality of the shorts. But the fit seemed a bit off. I ordered an XS, and the shorts themselves fit perfectly, but the chamois sharply dug into my crotch area and left bruises. If I went bigger, the chamois might fit but the shorts would fall off my waist.

A Little Short

They're great - just a little short if you're using them for mountain biking. My wife has used them a few times and says they're comfortable despite the length

    Save my butt

I bought these for a spinning class that I'm taking to help save my butt from the pain since I haven't ridden for a long time and they help take some of the pain away!!! Plus they're super comfortable!!!

      Pearl Izumi Journey Short

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: Medium

I really struggle with women's mountain biking apparel because it's unflattering and the fit is inconsistent. I was pleased when I got these shorts and they're one of the best I've found for my shorter 5'2" frame. Most mountain biking shorts are so long they hit you in a weird spot when you're vertically challenged so the 6" inseam on these shorts is perfect. If you're looking for more protection these are probably too short but if you're going for a low key ride than these are perfect. I like the construction of the waistband with the elastic bands and snap closure b/c it moves with you and remains comfortable. I actually sized up to a Medium even though I usually wear a Small to give myself more room in the hips.

      Versatile and Multifunctional

      • Size Bought: Medium

I bought these for my girlfriend, and she wears these all the time. She says the liner and chamois are thin and work for shorter mountain bike rides but the shorts are stretchy and allow for excellent movement. She'll even sport these running and just as casual wear.

      Light weight and cool.

These shorts are great for shorter rides. With lightweight fabric and side vents, these shorts are comfortable on a hot day. These shorts fit true to size.

        Great Fit and Feel

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium

I was nervous because there were no reviews when I ordered these. Sometimes bike shorts, especially with liners, run really small. I ordered the Medium and they fit PERFECTLY. The liner is nice and the shorts look great. I'm very happy with my purchase.
