Mavic Crosstrail SL Carbon 29 wheel pairs carbon weight with strength
The Crosstrail SL Carbon 29 wheel splits its spoke build by load, running 28 spokes in a 3-cross pattern at the rear and 24 spokes in a 2-cross pattern up front, where less reinforcement is needed. Carbon fiber construction sheds weight the equivalent aluminum build carries, so the wheel accelerates and climbs with less rotating mass while keeping the same reinforced structure where it counts.
