Night bright

Most of the time in the winter you're commuting in the dark. If your commute includes riding your bike, you want to be as visible as possible to traffic from more than one direction. Lezyne's Zecto Drive Rear light provides 180 degrees of visibility in variable modes.

Like its counterpart, the Zecto Drive Front, the Rear light also features a CNC machined aluminum housing and Composite Matrix clip system. A dome shaped MOR lens houses three red LED lights which are visible from 180degrees. An intelligent power indicator allows you to check on the power level at any time ensuring that you don't run low on juice in the middle of a ride. It is quickly rechargeable with a micro USB cable. The Zecto attaches via a Clip-On system which allows it to be clipped or strapped to whichever point provides optimal visibilty.

The Zecto Drive Rear Light's five modes range from five lumens in Blast mode to twenty lumens in Daytime mode. Daytime mode is a super bright, maximum lumen flash mode for greater visibility during the day.

The Lezyne Zecto Drive Rear Light is available in three colors: Red/hi-gloss. Black/hi-gloss, and Polish/hi-gloss.

  • CNC machined aluminum housing with MOR lens
  • Three red LED lights provide 180 degrees of visibility
  • Five modes and blasts up to 20 lumens in highest setting
  • Rechargeable Micro USB battery
  • Composite Matrix clip system

Only one complaint

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm just wondering why the uneven grove in the clip? Makes it point upward or downward from my seat post. Maybe it's intentional? First light I've had like that. Other than that, cool light, fun blink modes for visibility, bright enough, rechargeable

Only one complaint

The mount compensates for the fact that your seatpost is not at a 90 degree angle to the ground. Tilt this picture to the right about 20 degrees and you'll see what I mean.

Rear light for biking safety.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I received this light as a replacement for a different light that had a mechanical malfunction. This light does not offer a great deal of illumination but is adequate for dark time riding. It's easy to install and to use.

Be seen

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Awesome light. I have had a few other, cheaper, rear lights that I wasn't super impressed with. They worked fine, but your visibility wasn't too awesome. I was very happy when I got this light and actually felt like the drivers out at night were able to see me. Haven't had any issues.

Good review. I'm receiving this light this week. Need to be seen at four in the morning!

Lezyne Zecto Drive Rear Light

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great build quality is well worth the higher price over other rear lights. Running strong after 2yrs of commuting. Really like battery life and that can charge at my desk after riding into work. Holds a long charge and small lights on the side show how much battery is remaining. Previously purchased the Niterider cherry bomb which was brighter but broke after only a few months of use. Only complaint is the rubber around the usb outlet puts pressure on the cord which makes charging finicky.

Bright and bright

Very bright. This was my first rear light purchase and i am very satisfied. It helps with my visibility at night when i bike or run. Great purchase and would highly recommend.

    The Ideal rear light

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a couple of these lights on hand and have for a couple of years now. Solid lights that have given me no trouble. Love the attachment contraption - makes it quick and easy to get on and off. I try and take my lights off when going into an establishment and this light being so small makes it easy to stash in a pocket. Battery life is great and battery meter works well so that you know before it dies.

    Keep away from Mogwai

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bright light! significantly brighter than other tail lights I've used. it's got a really nice 180* visibility ring and various settings for flashes and fixed lights. I got this for my wife to avoid death on Massachusetts Avenue downtown Boston. It's key that she have a ton of visibility so that even the most obnoxious mass**** will take notice and think twice before smashing her with his BMW.
I don't like the USB rechargable battery only because i think it allows for some complacency. The 7 hour run time is great. but my wife cannot be bothered with such things as power. A few spare batteries in her pack seems to work better to keep her illuminated.

The best rear light for any bike owner

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have strong feelings regarding lights. A rear light needs to have multiple ways to mount it, because you never know what bike you might be putting it on. The Zecto Driver rear light mounts on your clothing, backpack, and bike. It is easy to remove, fits nicely in a pocket or bag, and is rechargeable at your computer while you are in the office or at home. Multiple flash modes are also really great. Definitely worth the money.

    Love my light

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This light is great. I love the power meter, light modes and brightness. It is a little bulky to throw in your pocket though. I use it on my Urban Commuter bike.

    Does the job

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I like the variety of light patterns. Its not super bright but I think its enough for cars to see you, but it probably won't get you extra attention in the day. Build quality seems great.

    Maybe its me?

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

After about 30 days its stopped taking a charge. Sitting in my top draw now.

Found new cord It now WORKS> I do like this light .Back to 5 star.

always suspect a faulty cable! They're faulty to a...well fault.

Did you return the light? It has a two year warranty and Competitive Cyclist will exchange it for a different one.

In the description it says it is rechargable with a micro usb. However, in the tech specs it says it is battery operated. Which is it?

    Battery life too short

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I liked everything about this rear tail light except the battery duration is too short to be practical. Need to double the size of the battery.

how long did you run it for? and in which mode? I found mine to last as long as it's spec'ed for(3:10). I got about about 3 hours our of it(flash mode 1). Perhaps you need to pro model? It's last about 2 hours longer.

Also, the "Daytime" mode is suppose to last 7 hours! I will have to give that a try..

I will buy more of these!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great light. Many settings, including a day-time setting. The elastic band makes it super easy to take on and off, which is good because you WILL be taking it off a lot because the thing needs to be charged pretty much every time you use it. So I agree with PV, below, the only down-side is that the rechargeable battery only lasts for a few hours so you have to remember to charge it.

I find that the battery life is what's claimed in the mode I use it. I will have to try mode 6, suppose to be 7 hours!

"Longevity" wise, I was referring to how many cycles the rechargeable battery will last for.

Good to know. I've left my home for a morning ride and thought my light was charged only to discover that it shut off after a few minutes.

    Good for running and riding.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The clip with elastic design is awesome as you can clip it or strap it. I used it for both running and riding. It's bright enough to burn! The number of modes is almost overwhelming.

The rechargeable battery is awesome but little concerned about longevity.

    They gotta see me now

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This light is really bright with multiple flashing bulbs. Mounts easily with rubber stretchy strap. Easy to operate with one button on/off switch. I like the usb charging but too bad there is a small cord that gets lost in the rats nest of my other cords.

I keep cables separate and in zip lock bags.
