Why We Like The 101 Trail S 29in Boost Wheelset
Industry Nine has long been the standard for the nicest wheels and snappiest hubs on the market, and while it can be tempting to toss the latest and greatest on the rig you strap to your rust-mobile, there's a point at which we suggest saving room in your budget for a few other components, and the 1/1 Trail S 29in Boost Wheelset makes a fine option for saving bills while getting all of the thrills. The 1/1 Trail S combines I9's 1/1 hub, which is modeled after the Hydra, but built up to be a little more pocket friendly, with the trusty Trail S hoops that provide reliable stiffness, power, and durability while you ride. Internally, the 1/1 bares some similarities to the Hydra and its predecessor, the Torch, but is ever so slightly less snappy, with 4-degrees of engagement, which still blows much of the competition out of the water.

Light and Fast but Not Perfect
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought these for all around trail use and the rear wheel became very loose and flexy after about 4 rides. I9 was awesome and re-laced the wheel under warranty and got it done very quickly. I've been riding them hard since then and they've held up pretty well with some minor spoke tweeks. That said, they are very light. stiff and get up to speed quickly. The hubs also engage very fast and have a nice sound.
