Ripley V5 XT maximizes trail efficiency with DW-Link suspension and Factory-level control
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The XT build is the sweet spot for riders who want a lightweight, efficient platform but still value precision and reliability. The 36SL fork tracks beautifully through chattery sections, and the Float shock gives strong mid-stroke support without feeling harsh. XT Di2 shifting is incredibly consistent, even under load, and the Ibis 933 wheels bring a solid, planted feel. The Ripley’s geometry lets you stay aggressive without sacrificing comfort—it’s a seriously capable trail package."
The Ripley V5 XT build blends Ibis’s advanced DW-Link suspension design with a high-performance Shimano component suite to deliver a precise, fast, and exceptionally efficient trail experience. With 130mm of rear travel matched to a Fox Factory Float shock and the lightweight Fox Factory 36SL fork out front, the bike sits at the intersection of agility and control. Ibis’s progressive geometry—longer reach, steeper seat angle, and a slacker head tube—keeps riders centered while enhancing traction and responsiveness across varied terrain.
Technical refinement is a defining trait of the XT build. Shimano’s XT Di2 drivetrain offers instantaneous electronic shifts that remain consistent through power strokes and steep climbs, while the XT 4-piston brakes provide dependable stopping force in loose or technical conditions. The BikeYoke Revive Max dropper, sized specifically to each frame, increases clearance and confidence on steep descents. Internally, the frame integrates storage space large enough for essential tools and layers, secured within Cotopaxi’s sustainably sourced bags.
Built on Ibis’s carbon monocoque frame with 29-inch wheels and optional MX compatibility via the flip chip, the Ripley V5 XT invites riders into a wide range of trail environments. The Ibis 933 wheels and Maxxis 2.4-inch tires provide predictable grip and durability, making the build ideal for technical climbs, flowy singletrack, and multi-hour trail missions where efficiency matters as much as capability. This is a versatile trail machine engineered for riders who want precision, dependability, and the freedom to cover more ground with confidence.
Heads up - We do our best to keep bike specs and images current, but occasional component changes can happen without warning-and sometimes the photos might not show the exact build you'll receive. If you want to double-check the details, our Gearheads are always here to help.

Adventure Awaits

Size-Specific Everything
Every rider deserves the same ride feel. Size-specific seat tube angles, suspension kinematics, chainstay length, and bottom bracket height keep the Ripley balanced and fast across all frame sizes.

5 Sizes
With 80% of riders between 5'5" and 6'0", Ibis introduced a new Extra-Medium (size 3) for a more precise fit. The Ripley now offers five sizes to better match rider proportions.

Flip It
A flip chip lets riders run 29" wheels or a mixed 29"/27.5" MX setup without compromising geometry. The Ripley ships with 29" wheels.

DW-Link Suspension
The dw-link suspension platform delivers efficient climbing and confident descending. Size-specific kinematics keep every frame size pedaling efficiently while staying smooth on rough trails.

Internal Frame Storage
Carry tools and snacks inside the frame with a water-resistant, rattle-free storage system. The easy-to-use latch works even with gloves in cold or muddy conditions. Includes two Cotopaxi-made storage bags crafted from remnant materials.

Built To Fly
Ibis Cycles started in 1981 when founder Scot Nicol opened a tiny workshop near Mendocino, California, with no big plan beyond building mountain bikes that were fun to ride and tough enough for the rough stuff. Today, from its home base in Santa Cruz, Ibis remains a small, rider-owned company focused on doing a few things really well: designing carbon and aluminum mountain bikes that climb efficiently, descend playfully, and feel lively every time you point them down the trail. With long-time owners and in-house engineering still deeply involved in the day-to-day, the brand stands for bikes that are light, durable, and above all, a blast to ride—whether you are racing, lapping local trails, or just chasing that next perfect corner.
