Great value in a MIPS helmet
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- M
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 172
I bought this helmet in December 2020 after getting bit by the serious cycling bug (a major Covid variant). It replaced a 10 year old Bell that I bought at WallyWorld. I was looking for high visibility, so I bought the radioactive yellow that Giro calls Highlight Yellow. I ride nearly every day and in a variety of cycling disciplines, road, gravel, triathlon/TT and MTB. I use this helmet for it all. In 2021, Strava said I made 325 rides and over 6k miles. My head measures 23 inches in circumference and I bought the medium, so I think it is true to size. In the winter I put a thin Lifa stocking cap on underneath to stay warm. I live in NC, so it is hot here in the summer. Yes, I sweat, but I do not overheat in this helmet. It might not be the most aero design, but it is pretty good. I got 34 road segment KOMs in 2021 using my TT bike and this helmet. I thought about getting a TT helmet, but why? I have been down a few times, MTB is rough, but have been lucky to not hit my head, so cannot comment on the protection. I will have to take Giros word on the safety of MIPS.

Good value
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- Large
- Weight:
- 215
Have 4 rides w/ this helmet & really have no complaints. Once it's on my head & adjusted I forget about it. Pretty solid ventilation. Fits good. Doesn't move around during my gravel rides. Zero problems w/ my 100% glasses. Seems like a safe helmet w/ a good price point of $90

A friend and his wife were asking about replacing their old head cage so I told them to consider the Giro Agilis MIPS. Initial impressions were positive and I am glad they love the fit and aesthetics.
