Item # FAB0007

The invisible bottle mount.

If you have a knack for breaking plastic water bottle cages, or you'd rather shove a water bottle in your jersey pocket than risk ruining the clean lines of your frame with a cage — metal or plastic — UK-based component manufacturer Fabric understands you. So well, in fact, that it created its own clean-mounting system. The BPA-free (and aptly titled) Waterbottle includes studs that attach to your frame to anchor the bottle itself, eliminating the need for a cage and freeing up your jersey pocket.

Lost the Bottle

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I mounted this to the underside of the downtube of my hard tail. On the third ride I looked down and it was gone. :( liked the concept and the looks way better than a traditional bottle but it's not doing me any good any more.

I think it would have worked well if I could have mounted it to the topside of the downtube so gravity was pulling down onto the frame rather than away.

I'll try it again if I ever have a bike with mounts on top of the down tube.

Sweet Design

If you are looking for a simple, sleek way to carry your bottle this is it. Excellent choice for frames with bottle mounts on the bottom of the frame.

    Great for non-standard bottle mounts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have a Pivot Mach6 which doesn't have a bottle mount in the frame, but it does have the screws/mounts on the bottom of the downtube. The problem with using a traditional bottle cage in this location is that they arent designed to be used upside down and I frequently lost bottles. This bottle/mounting system works perfectly for this non-standard location and is super secure. If I have any gripe with the system it is that is is so difficult to remove the bottle that I frequently cannot do it while riding, but in this case I'm happy to substitute security for ease of use

    I love these bottles!

I love the fabric bottle system! It is incredibly simple, and clean looking. Also is a great option for MTB, where frame options sometimes restrict the types and sizes of bottles you can run. It can be a little tricky to get used to getting the bottles to the pins while riding, but after a little practice, feels no different than any other bottle cage.

    Excellent concept/design w/slight flaw

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got two of these. One for my bike, one for wife's bike. Such a great product that cleans up the lines of the bike especially when water bottle isn't on. It locks in nicely and is easy to get on/off for quick splash of water.

However....it didn't work on my bike (Santa Cruz Bronson 2.0) due to the bottle mount location being so close to the seat tube. It needs around 3" of clearance to fit.

    Works great!!

My MTB is a 2013 Cannondale Trails SL-5 29er. I am 5' 9" and had to go with the medium frame. Unfortunately I was only able to fit 1 bike cage on this frame. Then I saw this product. My mechanic was able to install 2 mounts and now I am able to have 2 bottle on my MTB.

    Good idea but...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Nice idea in principal but 2 things that i didn't like:
    1. When the bottles are full they make a lot of squeaky noise
and for me personally it drove me nuts because i work hard to
keep my bike clean and noise free.
    2. might be me but it's not that easy to put them back onto the little mounds.

looks great on the bike but didn't work for me.

    Lightest bottle/cage system out there

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was a bit scepticle when I first saw this bottle, but thought I'd give it a try. Actually really like the system.

The cage is basically two plastic knobs that weight nothing. The bottle connects to the knobs. You get four knobs with a bottle, so basically two cages... I bought two bottles and have four cages to put on my two bikes. SWEET.

I've been riding with the bottles on some gnarly, rocky MTB trails and have yet had my bottles pop out. Also use them on my road bike with no issues losing bottles.

It takes a few times to get used to taking on and off the bottles, but then you get used to it.

I'd say this isn't a solution for road racers, however I don't race anymore -- just ride my bike all the time. It'd actually be a cool option for a TT bike and/or cross bike where you want a bottle for training but not racing.

Overall, great hydration system, which really cleans how the bike looks with water bottles on.

    Lightest bottle/cage system out there

    No cage water bottle kit.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great system for short, one hour or less rides. When you want to go without your camelbak and all the weight that comes with it. It's very low profile, when you don't have the bottle attached. It takes a few rides and attempts to be able to put the bottle back in to its place when you are riding. But for short rides you are not hydrating as often. Also, the top stud is a good bottom support for your battery on night rides. (See picture) With a cage my battery never fit right and I did not like the the look of a cage when you didn't have a bottle in it.

    No cage water bottle kit.
