Rear visibility on an eBike is most effective when it is permanent and passive rather than something the rider has to remember to activate and charge separately. The Exposure RedEye-E eBike Tail Light was designed around that principle, drawing power directly from the eBike motor and battery system so it operates whenever the bike is running without requiring any independent management.

The optical design uses a single LED paired with a purpose-built lens that directs output specifically to maximize visibility rather than simply projecting light rearward. The result is a 240-degree halo of red light that provides meaningful lateral coverage for urban intersections and trail crossings, with a visibility range exceeding one kilometer that makes the light effective in full daylight as well as at night.
