Trail and enduro riding cover a wide range of impact scenarios — high-speed crashes on fast singletrack, slower but more complex tumbles on technical features, and the angled oblique impacts that occur when a rider hits terrain while already in motion. A helmet that performs well across that full range needs more than a single protection technology, and the Endura MT500 MIPS Helmet is built with a layered protection architecture that addresses direct, distributed, and rotational impact mechanics simultaneously. Building on the proven MT500 platform, this version extends coverage and integrates MIPS to close the gaps that aggressive trail riding exposes in lesser lids.

The structural core of the MT500 MIPS is a full Koroyd construction bonded to an in-mold polycarbonate shell. Koroyd's co-polymer welded tube geometry collapses in a controlled manner on impact, absorbing and dissipating energy across the full contact area of the helmet rather than concentrating it at the point of contact as traditional EPS foam does. Full-core coverage means that protection is consistent regardless of impact location — a meaningful advantage on trail terrain where the geometry of a crash is rarely predictable. The in-mold polycarbonate shell fuses directly to the Koroyd core during manufacturing, creating a unified structure with greater rigidity and integration than a separately assembled shell and liner, while keeping the overall weight at a competitive 14 ounces in a small/medium. The MIPS Brain Protection System adds a low-friction slip plane between the helmet interior and the rider's head that allows the shell to rotate slightly during angled impacts, reducing the rotational and oblique forces transmitted to the brain that are most strongly associated with concussion and serious head injury. Together, Koroyd and MIPS create a protection stack that operates across the full spectrum of impact mechanics rather than optimizing for only one.

Extended coverage relative to the previous MT500 generation increases protection on the sides and rear of the head — the areas most exposed during the lateral and rearward falls common in technical trail riding. Large vents distributed across the shell drive continuous airflow during both high-output climbing efforts and fast descents, and odor-resistant padding maintains a fresh interior across heavy use and back-to-back ride days. The one-hand micro-adjust retention system allows precise fit adjustment without removing gloves or stopping, a practical feature on variable-terrain rides where fit needs to be checked or tightened on the move. Goggle compatibility is addressed through rear strap grippers that hold goggle straps in position during fast sections and front vents designed to function as a sunglasses dock when eyewear needs to come off mid-ride. A removable and adjustable visor handles sun angle and trail debris across varying conditions and is easily stowed when not needed. The MT500 MIPS meets U.S. CPSC and CE EN1078:2012 + A1:2012 certification standards and carries a one-year manufacturer warranty.
