Function, feel, and performance.

With a massive alloy platform, enlarged spindle, eight adjustable pins per side, and an obstacle-clearing clipless design, the Crank Brothers Mallet DH Pedal offers the perfect fit for high-octane, white-knuckle downhill rides. This pedal's numerous pins on each side and larger-than-life platform carry you through bigger hits and more gut-wrenching drops than a standard all-mountain pedal might be able to handle, while also getting along famously with flats when you're on courses where you have to continuously put your foot down in order stay up. With a spindle five millimeters stouter than the rest of the Mallet lineup, the DH lends a secure stance that's necessary for meeting the demands of gravity runs, and also rides on both cartridge and needle bearings with long-life seals to keep these vital components clean and smooth after seasons and seasons of hard use.

  • Large, tough, and lightweight pedal for intense DH runs
  • Alloy platform brings ideal strength-to-weight ratio
  • Oversized spindle keeps you stable on high-speed descents
  • Clipless design helps keep you upright and clears debris
  • High number of traction pins per side keeps your feet steady

Epic for the DH bike!

I've used it several times
5` 10"

I put these on my Santa Cruz V10 for park riding, and they absolutely rock! Was riding flats but got tired of losing my footing in the gnar at speed at Northstar, so I got a pair of these. The larger platform than the enduro version helps stability a lot, and I paired these with the 0-degree float cleats to minimize that loose feeling you can get from the 6-degree cleats. They feel awesome in the chunk and I feel more confident at speed than with flats. I was most concerned about the pedal feel while jumping compared to flats, but was very pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be a nonissue; I basically can't feel the difference between the Mallet DH pedals and flats when I'm in the air. Net/Net it's a win all around and they're staying on the V10. Two big thumbs up.

Nice pedals

Very nice set of clipless pedals. Easy to clip in and out once you adjust the pins and provide much needed support of you want to unclip for a particular section of the trail. Definitely well made and appear to be durable

Great Pedal

I've put it through the wringer

most people don't like crank bros, but these things are great. clip in easily and quickly. and come out easily too, but not too easy. and you can ride confidently with just your toes on the spikes for some sketchy downhill parts where you don't want to be clipped in. i would totally recommended these to anyone. they are a bit big and heavy but who cares? you're going downhill.

Crank Bros DH Mallet

I've put it through the wringer

Love the engagement of the Crank Brothers system and the extra space around the platform makes it easier to keep the pedals clear of debris. The height adjustable pins on the platform also make it easy to fine tune the amount of effort that it takes to step out of the pedal.
