ThreadFit 30mm Bottom Bracket

Whether you prefer threaded bottom brackets for their silence, their ease of replacement, or—like us—for the pure romance of these precisely machined beauties, we can all be grateful that craftsmen like Chris King agree. If you're the lucky owner of a dirt-loving frame with a 73mm threaded BB shell, replace your worn-out bottom bracket with the Chris King ThreadFit 30mm Bottom Bracket.

As the latest addition to Chris King's ThreadFit line, this cylindrical powerhouse keeps 30mm spindle cranks turning silently with its made-in-house bearings while you mash the pedals over rocky cruxes and rutted descents. King even makes the system kind to the novice at-home mechanic with an integrated grease injection system allowing you to give a little love to your bearings without a trip to the shop.

  • Ride with silence on this classic threaded bottom bracket
  • Fits 30mm crank arms and 73mm threaded shells
  • Steel bearings made in-house in Portland, OR
  • Easy-to-use grease injection system for at-home maintenance
  • May require a separately sold conversion kit

I'm looking at either the FSA sl-k modular DM BB392EVO or the Raceface Next R crank. Can you tell me the appropriate CK BB and conversion kit for each of those if they're compatible. The bike will be 2020 Hightower. Thanks!

I've put it through the wringer

The 30mm variant of the Threadfit series may not get as much attention as other King bottom brackets, but for those of us who need it (Cinch) there is no better option. After a few rides to "break in" the bearings, you'll wonder why you ever skimped on such a crucial component. Make sure your install goes smoothly with the CK bottom bracket tool (Item #CKG0027) and be sure to check the appropriate bottom bracket conversion kit (No. 21, 23 or 24) for your frame and crankset combo. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions!

Can you use any bsa 30 bottom bracket tool or do you have to use the king threadfit 30 botton bracket tool to install and remove the chris king threadfit 30 bottom bracket?

Is this a direct fit on a 2015 Santa Cruz 5010? I have a raceface with 30mm crank arms now. Thanks.

Hi Paul, in order to use this BB with Race Face Cinch crankset you would need conversion kit #21 Cheers

One and done

I've used it several times

replaced my worn out raceface bb (non serviceable) with this one. Much better bb that you can re grease and will last for a long long time.

will this bottom bracket fit a yeti sb6 2018?
