Castelli built this toecover from windproof neoprene, engineered to block wind at one of the coldest points of contact on a bike, the toes. A rugged, rubberized sole includes openings for cleats, allowing the cover to work seamlessly with a standard road shoe and pedal system without interfering with engagement.

The Toe Thingy 3 can be worn on its own for milder conditions or layered underneath a full shoecover when temperatures drop further, giving riders a flexible option depending on the day's forecast. Note that the material may transfer color when wet, so extended contact with light colored shoes should be avoided and the cover removed promptly after a ride.
