Big man city saddle
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Recently, I decided to ditch my car to embrace bicycle commuting, and I learned pretty quickly that my old plastic seat was not cutting it, it would leave me sore and did not provide me with enough support in the lower back and hips. My commute from work is about 6 miles on a very busy road that is full of potholes and is under construction, so being able to ride hard requires being comfortable. All my saddle problems have been officially solved now that I picked up the B33, the triple sprung design is simply beautiful, this saddle looks like a piece of art and performs like a dream. I am a big guy- 6'6 and about 230 with wide hips, the B33 has plenty of room to prop me up without having my cheeks hang over the seat, and the suspension keeps me saddle sore free. I havent applied any proofide just yet, but have spend a few weeks breaking the saddle in and just stretched the leather a bit tighter the other day- the B33 will last me all of my life if I take care of it. Thus far I could not be happier with this saddle, it does add a significant amount of weight to your ride, but since it is installed on my 80's chromo frame with Reynolds Solitude wheels the bike is really light as it is, and the trade off is well worth it in my opinion. If you are a big person, and are just sick of feeling sore and unsupported do yourself a favor and invest in a Brooks B33
