Get stoked on improved safety.
The Bell Stoker helmet was already one of our favorites, for its slick design, low weight, low price, and great breathability. Add in the MIPS safety system, and it creates the Bell Stoker MIPS-Equipped Helmet, and it's just that much better.
The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) structure integrates easily into the Stoker's bones. MIPS is essentially the separation of the EPS foam shell from the retention system (the part that grabs your head) via a semi-floating suspension system, so that when the shell absorbs an impact, or two, or four, in a crash, it doesn't transfer that energy directly into the skull. Instead, forces are isolated, saving your head and neck from undo impacts. Developed in Scandinavia more than 10 years ago, the MIPS system has been continually revised and applied to an ever-growing number of helmets in different sports, and it's been credited with saving countless noggins from more serious injury.
Driving it all to greatness is the fact that we're already stoked on the Stoker. Bell's placement of four brow ports and thirteen vents is more than adequate enough to cool, while an adjustable visor embodies this lid's off-road intentions. Another defining feature is that the Stoker comes in four sizes — the industry standard is three. This guarantees a proportional fit and better ergonomics from the simple, yet effective, SpeedDial adjustment system. Separating you from the Stoker's Fusion In-Mold Microshell are Coolmax pads that wick and quickly evaporate perspiration to keep things dry and comfortable.
