Great Value, Some Issues
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've got the previous version of this crank (Precision 3) and it's been working well for the most part. I don't dig deep into numbers so I'll trust other reviewers that accuracy is good - for me what matters is that it's easy to set up and just works. Setup is indeed easy, there's an app but that wasn't even needed to pair it with my Wahoo. There's a calibration step which was also straightforward when following the setup instructions. On my second ride the power meter stopped sending data to my computer. I checked the battery (it was good) and it worked fine again upon reinstall without problems since. Hard to say if it was an electronic issue or something simple like the battery door being loose. On a later ride the battery door and battery did fall off. Mind you this is on a gravel bike where I'm sometimes riding through brush, but it was frustrating. $15 + shipping later I had a replacement, I cleaned the caked mud out of the battery holder and it was working again. Will you encounter similar problems? Hard to say. When the power meter works it's a great value.
