Why We Like The Red AXS Power Meter Spider
With the Red AXS Power Meter Spider from SRAM, you can easily upgrade your SRAM AXS crankset into a power meter. By simply unbolting the eight T20 Torx bolts that hold your current spider to the drive side crankarm and installing this unit, you'll start to receive important ride metrics like cadence and wattage. Its 107mm bolt circle diameter works with both 1x and 2x setups offering the maximum in versatility down the road.
Like the rest of its 12-speed electronic road and mountain groups, the Power Meter Spider is AXS enabled, SRAM's newest electronic integration platform that connects the components to an easy to use app. It allows you to monitor battery status and perform firmware upgrades. Information is sent to your smartphone, tablet, or head unit via Bluetooth Low Energy or ANT+ connection and the power readings are accurate to within +/-1.5% and aren’t affected by changing climate conditions during your ride. Lastly, the spider measures the power balance between your left and right legs separately, letting you maximize training and dialing in your position.

Seems good to me
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is the only power meter I have had, so I do not have anything to compare with. That being said, it seems pretty good and gives you a left right percentage (ie: 51%/49%). Have had it for about three months now with no issues.

Great Piiece of equipment
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Easy to install, several you tube videos available. Connects with my Garmin 840, IPhone easily and you dont need a degree in computer science Only other: It could have included a better set of instructions for effective use. This is my first Power Meter and I am not sure how to use it. Effectively

Easy installation, works great so far
- Familiarity:

Purchased as an add-on to new Pivot gravel bike (once the price dropped from $600 to $450). Installation very easy as long as you have T20 torx bit to change out the existing spider. You also need 8 mm hex and torque wrench to remove the AXS crank assembly. Install instructions in the box are non existent, but plenty of videos on you-tube. This powermeter weighs 100 g more than the standard Force AXS spider. Connecting to both AXS app and my Garmin 830 was very easy. Nice that the app is available for any firmware updates. I have not done any accuracy comparison to other power meter such as vector pedals or trainer, but directionally the readings seems good. There is estimated left/right balance if you see value there. My prior experience with crank based meters is they are simple, set and forget, and with the new price the AXS version seems like good value. 4 stars because of need to find my own instruction videos, and would have liked smaller weight penalty which may be unrealistic at 100 g!
