New shape reduces noise and pass-through design increases capacity.

The new Yakima Whispbar Through Bar Rack Kit features a pass-through tower design to give you a few extra (crucial) inches to maximize your gear load. When winter tricks you with spring-like conditions, attach your bike racks to the wind-reducing, fuel-economy-increasing Whispbars and head south. If spring flowers are kept dormant with a thick snowpack, re-attach your Yakima Powderhound ski racks and head for the high country. When you can't decide, load up all of your gear and do it all in one big season-ending blowout.

What would fit a Hyundai Tucson 2013 with side rails ?

What are the size of the rails in the S16 Whispbar? and is the K328 the correct fit kit for a 2014 Jeep CHerokee with side rails?

Hey William,

Here are the dimensions for the Whispbar through bars - L 49.61" X W 6.70" X H 5.91"

Yes the K328 is the right fit kit for your 2014 Cherokee with rails! Yakima recommends the S16 with K328 for your car.

Will this fit Camry 2012?

Hey Lucerio,

This will fit your Camery. You will need to pick up the S16 Through 1190/2B option in the drop down as well as the K652W fitting kit which we seem to be sold out of at the moment.

Hi Wayne thanks for the reply! When are you guys having new stocks for my 2012 Camry?

Will this fit on my 2014 TOYOTA PRIUS?

Yes, the Yakima Whispbar has a size to fit pretty much all vehicles including the 2014 Prius C and Prius. Go to the Yakima website to enter the year, make, model, etc to determine which size fits your Prius.

I'm confused with half through and the other?

Some vehicles need a different fit in the front and a different fit for the back so the "half" options are not a set but rather individual rails.

Honda CR-V

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Got this length bar for our bikes. We were told it should fit 4 bikes across the Honda CRV 2012 rack, but we don't see how. The black towers that hold the whisp bars at either end eat up so much room that we can't get four bike racks mounted in the space in between. The product works well, but should not be advertised to hold more than 3 bikes.

It depends on which type of bike mount you have. If you own the Whispbar specific racks, WB200 and WB201, that attach using the slot on top of the Whispbar then you can easily fit 4 bikes. However, if you're using a different brand or style of bike rack that clamps over the Whispbar, you may not be able to fit 4 bikes. Additionally, keep in mind that fork mounting racks are narrower than wheel-attached mounting racks.

Honda Fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Just got these for a roofbox on my Honda Fit. I like the shape, and they seem lower than normal bars. I don't have any to compare to, but they seem quiet. The only thing I don't like is that the rubber gaskets gap open where they seat on the roof, because of the curve of the roof. It doesn't cause anything to happen, but it doesn't look finished. Other than that, they are great!

Great crossbars and they're Quiet!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Mounted these (s18w) on top of Thule tracks (using k450 fit kit) on a 2012 jeep wrangler hard top. Super clean install and crossbar curvature matches the roof perfectly. These are heavy duty and well built bars and quiet as hell for aftermarket standards. looking forward to use these with the yakima big powderhound

Love the look

I had a set of Yakima control towers on too of my 08 Toyota Tundra. Was a lot of wind noise even with a fairing. The noise was cut by 80% when I added these bars. They look really really good. They installed really easy. The Yakima control towers were a little easier, but not by much. The bars are made of aluminum so they will never rust. In conclusion they look great, reduced the noise and will last longer then the Yakima or Thule bars.
