Any weather, any road.

Rather than taking the time to swap out your tires every time there's a hint of rain or a rough stretch of road on your chosen route, try wrapping your rims in the Vredestein Comp Race Tire before your next several rides or races. Versatile and hardy, the Comp Race was designed to free you from having to tailor your ride around your tire's capabilities, and it's built with a triple compound construction to keep it rolling confidently through everything from a slick, rain-drenched race course to the chip-sealed shoulders on your favorite back roads.

Vredestein uses a firmer rubber along the center of the tire to keep enterprising goatheads and broken glass from stealing the air from your tubes and pairs it with softer rubber on the shoulders to give the tires a supple, controlled feel on corners. While you're rolling over ruts and grooves in the roads, the Comp Race's 120 TPI casing will allow you to coast smoothly rather than bounce over inconsistencies, preventing you from losing hard-earned speed. Finally, a woven nylon layer beneath the center tread provides an additional line of defense against road debris, leaving the less-vulnerable sidewalls free to still provide their commendable grip on corners.

Great value tire, plush feel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just switched from Specialized turbo 24mm (a fine tire) to
the V Comp race 23's. maybe a trifle less fast? great ride, road feel. plush. good cornering. Have not tried in rain. very easy to mount on Ksyrium rims. run at 110 psi-perfect
me: experienced rider - cat 3. 150 lbs.just bought more.
update May 2018 - bought more. not the longest wearing tire. but a great feel, good cornering. Rode some hairy roads Levis Gran Fondo and nary a slip or thought. no flat, ever.

Just Installed

I've done a few rides on the tire and it seems solid. I'll have to put more miles on it but it seems stable and like i'll have it on for a while.

    Comfortable Ride

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Tires are really comfortable to ride on compared to my originals. For the price these are a great buy.

    Great Tire

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ordered these last fall when they were on half off. Just put them on about a month ago and have about 400 miles on them. GREAT TIRE. Easy to mount on Mercury Carbon M5 clinchers. Very round profile, so cornering is quite confident. They are a great buy at about $22. Right now just 10% off at about $40 each. I bought an additional set of 2 while they were still on sale. I run them at about 110 psi on these clinchers which is about 10 ps less than I normally run a 23mm tire.

Good for value, better than expected!

So, these are good tires especially for the money, however far from perfect. Sidewalls are flimsy which means poor cornering and the 28s are super heavy. A great tire for long winter miles but don't expect GP 4 season quality out of these! They are heavy!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

actually was surprised at how nice these ride!

Good tire especially @ sale price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Normally run 320tpi tires; bought these on sale. Good value, no complaints. Give them a try.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First time using Vreds drove to KCC 2016 event ain't no problem on curve, puncture resistance good grip on road when braking and acceleration.

    Yeah it's good, buy it

Riding on stock tires? Upgrade ASAP, especially if you're thinking about upgrading wheels. Tire upgrade may just get you through another season and give you time save for those Chicago style deep dish wheels. At a sale price, these tires are fantastic buy. The 25mm rolls smooth and grip the road --- aka power at the pedal, no slippage, excellent power transfer for climbing and acceleration.

Just got these tires, and wow I'm so impressed with the way they hug the road. I'm glad I decided to go with them.

      Great Tires

These tires are worth every penny. Great grip on the road and seem to be very durable.

        Love it!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I put about 150 miles a week on this tire. I really like the puncture resistance, wear, and the fact that you can ride them with high PSI. The great sale price make this my favorite tire.

        Senso is awesome

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Plush feeling, have maybe 400 miles on the rear and looks like it isn't wearing too quick. Also enjoy that it's easy to get on and off the rim. First time on Vreds and will use for summer as well...

        Can't beat Vreds

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been riding Vreds for years. Just tried the new race. High mileage, great grip wet or dry, puncture resistant. Can't beat this tire, especially for the price..

        The Fortezza Tricomp carries on

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Comp Race is essentially a rebadge of the venerable Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp, but available at a substantially lower price. Durable and puncture resistant enough to ride on every day, but light, supple, and grips well enough to race on. A great all around tire at a fantastic price
