Great for a road trip
We use the Thule Force XT XL on our Toyota Sienna. This was wonderful for a road trip. We experienced a slight decrease of 1 MPG and minimal wind noise. We drove through rain and none of our luggage got wet. We were slightly skeptical because the plastic of the carrier seemed thin and flimsy. The carrier held up wonderful. I don't think we will ever take a road trip without it again. The carrier was easily lifted and attached to the factory roof racks on our Toyota Sienna.

Awesome Box
This is my 2nd Force Xt Sport. I loved my first on, so it was a no brainer to buy it again. I love that I can have this on my car plus, I can put my kayak on top right next to it and still open the box. Just wish my 186 cm skiis would fit but then I wouldn't be able to open my rear hatch on my Outback. Only 4 stars because of my 186 skiis not fitting.

Great for long road trips
We bought the Thule Force XT XXL for a 2024 Telluride. There were some shipping headaches outside of Thule's control: the first one arrived without a box, only wrapped in plastic, and was damaged enough that we refused shipment. The second one arrived in a beat-up cardboard box with zero padding, so it was scuffed a little bit from being tossed around, but the damage was minimal and not worth returning (for contrast, we also just got a RockyMounts bike rack and the packaging was a work of art and incredibly secure). As for the roof box: While huge, it fits the Telluride fine and is just what we wanted for longer trips so we have fewer things in the vehicle and more space for two large dogs. Note: The XXL is pretty cavernous and may be more than many people need for week-to-week use. The construction seems to be outstanding. The assembly and mounting is easy and intuitive. The overall execution is excellent. The box itself is fairly lightweight for the size, so it's manageable to get on and off with one strong person and easy to get off with two people. The reason I offer a 4/5 is twofold: The lock/key mechanism on either side seems a bit flimsy, although it works fine. Just thinking of repeated use. Second, the 'lid' of the box is so long, and is so lightweight, that it's pretty wobbly when you open it. Consequently, the front and rear of the lid seem prone to catch; one end or the other sort of gets caught on the base of the box and has to be shaken a bit to free it up. To mitigate that, I have to grab the lid with one hand pretty far toward the front and one hand pretty far toward the back, so the lid can be lifted evenly front-to-back. Not a huge deal at all, but that's also not easy to do from the ground. That aside, for such a large/long rooftop box, that may be the compromise one makes to have the volume of the XXL. The Thule rack on which it's mounted is also well-made, so we are happy with the entire package.

Very handy for larger families!
Assuming you are using this to transport a family on a trip or several folks to the slopes....there is no reason not to get an XXL. Once its mounted, you are all set and don't notice its extra size compared to the smaller models. It proportions well for a full size SUV.

Perfect for the Highlander!
Love the new racks and cargo system. It was a bit larger than we expected, but that is a good thing! Plenty of room for duffles for longer family trips.

The best in my humble opinion
I can load tons of cargo in this box, By doing that it leaves my suv with 100% interior space for comfortable travel. Not to mention the clean sleek design trust me you need it in your life.

Essential Travel Compartment
We purchased our first Thule product and couldn’t be happier with the quality, easy installation and practicality. Loads of storage room. We were able to store 3 suitcases, dog food, fishing rods, bulk water jugs and so much more to free up room in our vehicle to house our family of 3 and 3 dogs. A design feature that the company could look into is installing a rubber mechanism over the lock to product it from freezing which we experienced during a freezing rain storm.

Has withstood the test of time (and many trips!)
I’ve had this cargo box since 2019 and it is exactly like the day I got it. I love this thing so much that I came to the website on a Saturday morning 5 years later to sing its praises. First thing, I am able to install/remove the box without help and I’m a petite woman with average upper body strength. It is extremely straightforward to install and lightweight. You don’t have to guess if it’s safe because you have the clicks on the locks. This thing has been through it all - rain, snow, harsh sun - and is still in perfect shape. It holds a lot, so is a great addition to a car with limited cargo space. Looking at the other reviews, there are a couple things to point out — you cannot overstuff this thing, then try to lock it. Personally, I appreciate that because it indicates to me that I need to take a couple things out or reorganize rather than having a storage box that isn’t properly closed and might malfunction on the hwy. if you pack it properly, it closes and locks easily. No, you can’t try to push it open beyond where the hinges stop. It has limitations on how open it can go (my only complaint), but that allows the functionality of opening on both sides. It’s a trade off and one I was willing to make. Last thing- you can’t take your key out of the lock unless it’s locked. There’s no unlocking and removing your key. It’s a great feature because it ensures you’re not going to close it and forget to lock it. Would buy this thing again in a heartbeat, but I’ll probably never have to since it looks like it’s going to outlive us all!
