Santa Cruz BicyclesMolded Chainstay Protector
Item # SNZ002W
Protect your investment.
When you ride hard, your frame feels it. When your drivetrain is poorly calibrated or you just had a bad day, sometimes your frame feels that, too. Regardless, if you're on a Santa Cruz, or you just want to rep the company, slap on the Santa Cruz Molded Chainstay Protector to keep that drive-side stay looking sharp, and quiet, too. It protects your drivetrain and frame from one another. What do you think about this product?

Fits perfect on the 5010, easy
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Easy to use and put on. Fit perfectly on 2018 5010 2.1. I took some time to deburr the mold marks on the inside though, since I didn't want to hurt the paint on the frame. *UPDATE - used it for about 6 months, then took it off to clean and found that dust/dirt underneath had some horrid rubbing damage. So, I went back to thick mastic tape.

Doesn't fit properly on the Hightower LT
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Wanted to replace the protector for my HTLT on a size XL. My hopes were low because of the XL frame as well as this being more of a "generic" type of listin.. the bend is slightly different so it fits, but its not a perfect fit. I would reach out to santa cruz directly if you have a Hightower LT.

Protect Your Carbon
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This fits very snugly and looks very nice on my SC Bronson CC. I was thinking f making my own Chainstay protector, but this ended up being about the same price, and this looks way better! I used some green fingernail polish to colorfill the Santa Cruz logo and now it looks even better!

Why wouldnât you do it?
Wether it be you are ripping the downhill or pedaling cross-country. You just spent all this money on your brand new bike, why wouldnât you spend the extra couple bucks and protect not only your frame but your chain too. Itâs an easy call. Go ahead, pick one up.

Chain slap? Who really cares with this!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Protect your drivetrain and frame from one another. This comes as stock on the Santa Cruz bikes I've owned - Worth putting a cleanly cut zip tie on this so that it remains in place.

Fits the Carbon
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I love riding my carbon Bronson and I want to ride it for a long time. This fits snugly to the chain stay and protects well from chain slap. If you misplace one while cleaning the bike its not expensive to replace.

Called Santa Cruz and spoke to the tech department. He told me that this chainstay protector will not fit on a Tallboy LTc. It is not designed for this bike, it is too small.

Nice but not tight enought
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I think this make a SC bike just look more complete than a Lizard skins cover. However, after a very rough and sketchy descent yesterday, I lost it somewhere on the single track. I will be buying another, but this time, I'll be using zip ties to keep it on the bike.
