Uno Brake Starter Kit

Upgrade your current steed or build up a new ride with the Uno Brake Starter Kit from Rotor and enjoy the precision and lightweight offered from its hydraulic actuated group. This kit offers the foundation of the Uno groupset including all of its hydraulic shifting and braking technology with the bleeding kits and required tools, however, you will still need a crankset, bottom bracket, cassette, and an Uno chain if you don't already have them. Its lightweight, low maintenance, and uses brakes partnered with Magura to produce this rim and disc systems.

By integrating hydraulic technology from its rim and disc brakes into the drivetrain, Rotor's engineers were able to craft shifters that give you the power of efficiency and tactile command, with a smoothness that's typically only available in electronic shifters. Hydraulics don't only lend themselves to smoothness though, they also have the ability to reduce maintenance, with no cable stretch over time or batteries to charge, and only need one bleed a year, which can be easily performed with the two included kits.

Shifting the Uno is buttery smooth but may take a moment to get used to as Rotor situates all indexing in the derailleurs, instead of shifters. Shifting is done with a double-tap style actuation and is capable of shifting a full 4 gears at a time. Since your shift doesn't involve cable pull it won't give the same feedback that a mechanical system gives you, instead feeling buttery smooth, with no drag as it shifts positively through the cassette in a quick and decisive manner. Defined indexing helps with the feeling when you need to shift under load, keeping things precise and reducing the possibility of missed, or accidental half-shifts. The rear derailleur also features an easy-access switch that drops you to the lowest sprocket that enables quick and easy wheel swaps.

Taking braking seriously, the Spanish engineers at Rotor decided to pair up with Magura's German ingenuity to find ideal modulation and power. Magura's years of experience shine through with its rim and disc calipers used with Uno, providing reliability and stopping power that you can trust. Keeping things simple, Rotor not only uses Magura's Royal Blood for the braking system but for the shifting system as well, making it easier to keep things bled and running flawlessly, without the need to purchase additional fluids for the system.

  • A fully hydraulic starter group for buttery smooth shifting
  • Clean and smooth shifting with no cables to stretch or batteries to charge
  • Indexing is precise and comfortably housed in the derailleur
