The way you see it.

The GoPro Chest Mount Harness allows you to capture that elusive view of the action from behind the handlebars. If that's what you're after, mounting your GoPro on your head just won't do. It's made of wide, stretchy webbing with sliding strap adjusters to accommodate anyone from petite to sasquatch-sized. The GoPro HD Hero Camera attaches directly to a mount on the sternum and has up and down adjustability so you can dial in the perfect angle.

smooooooth rida

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this to my brother in law who has been looking for different video options for mountain biking. He has loved it! it gives an awesome angle just over the handle bars and is really secure. He has the karma grip to go along with it and it has created awesome footage of his adventure riding!

unlimited possibility

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

hiking, biking snowboarding skateboarding riding moto also shagging

Makes a difference!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The angle of the chest mount is perfect and frees my arms/hands up for hanging on to my other gear.

Best for the Chest

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Get your Jerry of the Day on the next level with this awesome mount that will give the best POV when you yardsale.

Super comfy, it feels like i've got pillows and kittens strapped to my body.

Just what I needed

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Depending on the sport sometimes I couldn't get the right angle I was after on my GoPro, but this style help fill the void. I seem to use it most snowskiing.

Sweet Angle

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love the angle of the chest mount for mountain biking. I haven't used it for skiing yet but am excited to see how it works out.

Chest mount harness fun to shoot with!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought it to wear while riding my dirt bike and a few other activities and it's great for a hands free experience. Tightening the straps is pretty easy and totally helps with any camera shake. The Hero5 has voice control so that and the chestie combined, really make it hands free!

Great biking POV

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The GoPro chest mount is my go to POV angle when mountain biking. Simple harness design which can be tightened down to reduce camera shake. Personal tip: mount the GoPro upside down to get a better downhill angle!

A must if you ride bikes

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If you ride bikes , atv's or motorcycles this is a must have for your Gopro. Highly suggest getting one if you want a different angle / POV.

GoPro Necessity!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I mountain bike a lot, and have learned that mounting the GoPro upside down on this harness captures a pretty awesome POV on trail rides. Used to borrow one from a friend, finally snagged one of my own!

Given as a gift

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this to my brother as a gift and he seems to love it. He uses it for MTN Biking and fishing and has no complaints

its work great

It works great but I wonder if the generic ones you find online are just as good. I feel that these are somewhat expensive.

    Chest mount splitboarding

this is what the chest mount looks like snowboarding. super stable, but obviously the footage is going to favor one side.

    Look Mom, No Hands.

One of my favorite things about GoPro has been their ability to create a variety of mounts that cover all of the bases when it comes to the kind of footage you are looking to capture.

This particular mount is great for a hands free experience capturing your hiking, mountain biking, snow day, etc. and allows you to look around without your camera moving everywhere you are looking like you get when you wear the helmet mount (which is also a great mount in certain situations)

Unless you don't mind your arms obstructing the view, this isn't as ideal for kayaking or paddle sports if you are the person with the paddle.

    Nailed it

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for my brother who's way cooler than me and gets awesome POV footage. Like others he now prefers this mount over a helmet mount for skiing. Easy to adjust and hasn't had any problems of it shifting on him once it's cinched down

    Get the shot!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The "chestie" as many people refer to it as, is one of the key accessories you should have for your GoPro. Mounting the GoPro to your chest provides a nice point of view for your footage. I like the chest mount more than a helmet mount because when it's on your helmet you have to be very particular of where you are looking so that you get the footage you want. The chest mount keeps the footage in the action spot, either always viewing your bike, skis, board, whatever you're filming. I would recommend this accessory to anybody who wants quality GoPro footage to share with their buddies!

    Good for skiing and biking

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great option for skiing and mountain biking shots. The video is much less choppy than being on your helmet. That being said, you tend to get less of the surroundings in your shot and more of just what's straight ahead. The straps are easy to adjust and very secure once you sinch them down a bit. Comfy over a ski jacket, although it can feel a bit bulky if you've got several layers on underneath

Does what it's supposed to do.

I like wearing this better than having a helmet cam while mountain biking. I've banged my camera on a tree before riding tight narrow single track - totally sucked. Chest mounts are more discrete, out of the way, and you get the cool view of your handle bars! Just remember to wear them high if you ride downhill since you're leaning back hunching over a bit. Only downfall..... why are all gopro mounts so expensive?!

used it for 7 straight days while skiing. i loved it. above a ski jacket you dont notice you have it on, and it fits seemlessly between a jacket and a backpack. one clip to take it on and off, and easy to screw/unscrew the camera with gloves on (so you can watch your last run on the next lift ride up, of course...). very happy i got this instead of using the helmet mount (which is actually incl when u buy the camera)

      Pretty cool

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing is fun to play around with. I've taken it biking, running and done some other menial things with it and the images I get from it come out pretty cool!
