E Thirteen has been on the forefront of chain guide design for a long time. It's no wonder then that the LG1+ Chain Guide is the lightest and one of the most thoughtful designs we've ever seen. From Steve Peat to Joe Schmoe, this chain guide has a perfect combination of light weight, strength, security, and adjustability to satisfy just about everyone.
The E Thirteen LG1+ Chain Guide is made of three main components -- an upper and lower guide and the aluminum backing plate. The upper guide is made of two wearplate halves that come apart via gold anodized alloy hardware to allow for easy changing of chainrings without breaking the chain to remove it from the guide. The backing plate has laser etched markings showing upper guide mount locations for each chainiring size. The taco bashguard and integrated lower guide also are bolted directly to the backing plate with alloy hardware for added strength and weight savings. The chain rolls up and over their Tech 3 stealth idler pulley for skip-free quiet performance. The bottom wearplate, like the top, is removable for easy chain and ring maintenance.
The taco is adjustable and can be mounted in three positions to fit a wide range of applications, in reality, depending on BB vs. rear axle height and range of suspension motion. From hardtails to World Cup downhill bikes, the LG1+ is the good-to-go guide for the ultimate in single ring security. It is drilled for direct ISCG '05 application. Note that the ISCG '05 version comes with an included adaptor for BB mount on frames with no tabs. It is available in two sizes to fit 32-36t rings and 36-40t rings. The E Thirteen LG1+ Chain Guide is proudly made in the USA. 169 grams.
