The Continental Race King 27.5in Tire boasts a low-profile knob pattern built to roll fast and grip hard in corners across just about any type of trail. Transitional knobs from the center to the shoulder of the tire maintain stability when shifting weight and moving between corners and straights, and Continental's ProTection technology pairs with an additional layer encircling the tire for an enhanced level of puncture protection. Unlike puncture-resistant troughs in many other brands' tires, this protection reaches wall-to-wall in order to resist damage all of the way around so you can spend more time riding and less time wrestling with flats on the side of the trail.

Continental relies on its Black Chili rubber compound to help this tire be all things in all conditions, making it grippier, tougher, and lighter on its treads. Essentially, the Continental engineers in Germany refined their synthetic rubbers with nano-sized carbon particles to create a compound that reacts to surface objects more quickly, improving grip. These particles also form a tight bond to improve compound strength, which lengthens tread life and reduces the chances that lugs will rip and tear.
