Service Course 70 XPLR Handlebar
Whether we’re racing across a continent on a loaded bike or riding fire roads on the weekend, the Service Course 70 XPLR gives us the deft handling and ergonomics we need for long rides on any surface, from pavement to gravel to singletrack. A shallower drop combined with the outsweep of the bars provides a stable platform for our most meandering rides.
We’ve seen a lot of flared drop bars come on to the gravel seen lately, and while that outward bend above the brake clamp can be helpful, it often places the hoods uncomfortably inward and angled toward the stem. The 70 XPLR’s sweet spot of a 5-degree flare with the 11-degree outsweep keeps the hoods more in-line with your wrist angle for greater comfort when riding on the hoods for hours on end. Where traditional drop bars force our arms inward to get more aerodynamic in the drops, the XPLR’s 11-degree outsweep puts our wrists at a more natural angle. Like a solid stance for a push-up, the wider drop gives us more stability and confidence when descending or on rough terrain.
Lightweight and durable, the aluminum tubing can withstand your most creative route choices, and with 100mm of clamping area, there’s room for light, bags and computer mounts aplenty to make sure you can find your way back to the car with snacks to spare.
