A place for everything.

Packing the car on race day is always stressful, and a few choice phrases sometimes slip out that definitely shouldn't. If you can avoid actually having to turn back for a forgotten item, you'd consider it a fairly smooth day. If this sounds anything like you, Timbuk2's Race Duffel Bag seeks to redefine what you think of as a successful race morning.

Designed to be carried as either a duffel bag or a backpack, it has a divided main compartment to make organizing the many items you'll need on race day simple, so that when you open up the bag, you can see what you remembered to pack and what you still have to grab. The bag has a water-resistant TPU lining that can be easily taken out and cleaned after a few days of sweaty kits and muddy shoes, and the bottom is also water-resistant, so there's no need to worry about accidentally setting it down in a puddle or two.

  • Detachable shoulder and sternum straps
  • Tricot-lined sleeve

nice functional gear bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my first cycling specific bag. I got it for a gift otherwise not sure I would have paid >$100 for a bag. I used it for the first time over the weekend and liked how the pockets are organized to keep all my stuff easy to access. I only wish the mesh pocket on the inside of main compartment flap was divided into 2 smaller sections instead of 1 big one. Outside of that I think it's a great product.

I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. It has all the room I've ever needed and wanted. Great for traveling. Highly recommend this bag!

Useful space

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Every compartment in this bag has a purpose for your cycling gear. Adequate size for a day trip or two and a very nice minimalist feel to the bag. +1 for the water bottle pockets

I finally purchased this instead of using a a standard duffle bag. The center pocket is big enough to fit shoes, 2 kits, jacket, and other apparel. The slimmer end pocket is great for food and the other end pocket is extra deep for your helmet. The two bottle carriers are probably my favorite part. Well worth the money if you're constantly traveling to ride/race.

would it possible for you to post a pic with it filled with gear? Im really leaning on this bag since itll be used for my cycling/gym bag. what really attracts me to it are the backpack straps.
