Sportful built the Hot Pack 5 out of Schoeller’s excellent Nanosphere fabric—a lightweight, windproof layer that’s DWR treated, and highly water resistant. In addition to being protective when weather rolls in, it’s supremely light, making this vest easy to pack in your jersey pocket. That task is made easier by an internal stuff-sack. Sportful minimized the seams at the front of the vest, reducing the number of points of entry for water, should you decide to test the limits of its waterproofness.

A drop tail keeps your backside covered in the event that road spray starts kicking up. Vents at the shoulders help to evacuate excess heat when you’re working up a sweat. And reflective accents make you more visible to drivers, so you stay safer on the roads, especially if dusk sets in earlier than expected.
