Why We Like The XC502 Wide Limited Edition Cycling Shoe
Power and efficiency are two things we want to get the most of when we are searching for a new shoe to rip down our favorite trail on. The XC502 Wide Limited Edition Cycling Shoe uses a midsole with a low stack height that provides superior stability to the foot, and also fully maximizes your pedal stroke to enhance power and efficiency throughout your ride. Comfort is also prioritized with a mesh and synthetic leather upper material, while a glass fiber reinforced nylon midsole keeps your power levels high without adding too much stiffness. A BOA L6 dial works with a hook-and-loop strap to ensure your foot is secure in the shoe and allows you to easily make quick adjustments while on the go.

BoA plastic in bad spot for wide feet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Weight:
- null
I'm coming from a set of Shimano R088s size 46 that my feet got a little too "fat" for. Bought these shoes and a size up (47) based on the guidelines of Shimano's website. The length is a huge difference, but they fit fine while testing them around the house. So I mount them, and try to get some time in on the bike. The wide plastic piece the BoA string goes through was the worst idea possible. Unlike the rest of the shoe thats a soft material that wraps around your foot, that plastic piece will dig into the side of your foot. I cant get more than 10 minutes of biking while its on the trainer without that pieces making it feel like there is a quarter in my shoe sticking in my foot. I wish I could have given these shoes a different rating because they look great, and while a huge length difference between the 46 and 47, they felt great while sitting down. Strap them down, and start peddling, no thank you!
