When the Dura-Ace TT brakes with integrated shifters were first introduced, triathletes and time trial riders rejoiced. Now, the same electronic technology has been handed down to the Ultegra line in the form of the 6871 Di2 TT Brake/Shift Lever Set, which is here to make you faster and more efficient than before.
Although it may seem redundant to place two sets of shifters on your aerodynamic time trial or triathlon bike, it actually makes a great deal of sense. Even though frame design and wheel choice play an important role in slipping cleanly through the air, if you move around while riding, you are negating those clean slipstreams. And, if you've raced technical or hilly courses where you need to hold the brakes to make tight corners, but also need to shift mid-turn or during a climb, you've experienced that awkward reach toward the bar ends. Integrating the electronic shifters into the brake levers eliminates that motion entirely so that you are able to concentrate on taking clean fast lines through the course.
The ST-6871 is a dual button design for bikes with double chainrings. Your left brake lever has two buttons that control the front derailleur and the right controls the rear. The Di2 electronic shifting ensures effortless and perfect shifting every time. The alloy levers feature an adjustable reach.
The Shimano Ultegra 6871 Di2 TT Brake/Shift Lever Set includes both right and left levers, brake cables, and housing ferrules.
