Why We Like The RC300 Wide Cycling Shoe
For the wide-footed road cyclist, Shimano’s RC300 Wide Cycling Shoe brings all-day comfort and performance to your base miles and racing pursuits. The RC300 Wide sits at Shimano’s mid-level cycling range, offering a race-worthy construction that begins to tease at the higher performance levels which road shoes can offer. As an upgrade to the entry-level RC1, the RC300 Wide receives a Boa L6 dial that provides more incremental adjustments to fine-tune the fitting than the traditional hook-and-loop strap. You’ll still find reliable power transfer to the pedals with the fiberglass reinforced nylon sole, and the Rubber XC racing pattern gives you extra grip for clicking in and walking around.
For comfort mile after mile, Shimano integrates the midsole to the upper for a seamless fit and unified form that stabilizes your foot during high power efforts. The RC300 Wide is compatible with 3-bolt cleats for the traditional road pedal platform.

Shimano
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Just arrived from UPS and dropped off to me!!! Got my exacto knife out and opened the box and gave the shoe a look over! Checked the size of the shoe to make sure it's the right size according to my foot measurement using a (Ritz Shoe Stik)!! I ordered a Shimano Entry Level Road Bike Shoes, US Men's 7.5W and it is True to Size!! Just installed a new set of cleats, adjusted them accordingly and clipped into my bike to see how the fit actually is and it is an Excellent Fit!! Shoes are a snug fit, BOA dial works great, Holds the shoe to my foot pretty good, also like the Cleat mounting area as it makes for mounting Shimano cleats very easy!

*** UPDATE *** 1 year and 1,000 miles later these shoes are still in great shape, but then again I've taken care of them and cleaned them once a week. The BOA strings/turn dial is still working great and they are still nice and stiff on the bottom. Wish there was 1 more BOA adjustment so I could get it tighter on the forefoot but not complaining. When or IF these ever ware out I'll be getting the same pair. These are my first real pair of cycling shoes. I first bought a cheap pair off Amazon but returned them because of how tight they were. I prefer wide shoes in everything I do. I wear wide/flat Lems boots at work and wide/flat Altras for running. These Shimanos are wide and comfortable with a great lacing system. I roughly have 50 miles in them so I can't speak for the long term durability but I imagine they'll last a long time.
