The one and only grip the Santa Cruz crew needs.

Grips are one of those parts of your bike you might not think about — until you have either the misfortune of riding some really crappy ones, or the privilege of trying some that are truly fantastic. For a good bet, put your money on the Santa Cruz Palmdale Grips, and understand what great grips should be. The single inner lock ring teams up with a tapered internal sleeve that effectively clamps the other end of the bar. Slightly flared on both ends, The 125mm-wide (excluding lock ring) waffle pattern offers copious grip for gloved or ungloved hands, and the outer end is bolstered by 8mm of extra rubber as a "bumper" when leaning your bike or slicing through narrow trails. These are the smart details, brought to you by the employees at Santa Cruz, who spent an insane amount of hours perfecting these things. Available in Red, Magenta, Black, Orange, Tennis Yellow, White, Grey, Light Blue, and Green.

Not durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm surprised that these get such good reviews. Because they hang over the edge of the handlebars, I snapped the entire end off during a fall on the very first ride. Seems like a design flaw rather than a bonus now.

Nice grip

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Nice to have a variety of colors to choose from. These are solid grips for the price, not the most grippiest grips but still work very well. Nice low thin profile

decent grip

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

for the price and the multitude of colorways its hard to go wrong with these grips, i knock them down to a 4 star simply becasue they do tend to wear pretty quick.

I'm a fan

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using Lizard Skins the last few years but decided to give these a try. Love the profile and single lock on, and for the price you can justify replacing twice as often. The rubber ends does add about 10mm (5mm on each side) to the effective handlebar width.

Adds Character to your Ride

Looking to refresh the grips on your Santa Cruz? These are perfect! They offer tons of grip and wear well over time. The one sided lock-on holds tight and is ideal for carbon handlebars. An added bonus is the grips match many of the color-schemes that Santa Cruz has offered.

they're grrrrrrrrips

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Much more fun than boring black grips and cheap enough that you can buy a few pairs to swap out. They lock on very securely, just make sure the embossed Santa Cruz lettering is on the bottom otherwise they might feel a bit funny.

So far digging them

You would think Santa Cruz could figure out how to match colors better. Every orange they use is different. The 2017 bronson has a different orange for the frame and fork decals and then this orange for the grips is completely different too. Seems like it wouldn't match any oranges from their other bikes either. I like that the lock-on is only on the inside so you can grip wider and get full use of those expensive wide bars you bought

Can't beat it for the price

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

For $18, these are amazing grips. Simple one sided lock ring, great feeling rubber compound, and a wide array of colors to match your bike. You should be aware, there is a Santa Cruz logo that is slightly extruded on one side of the bar. It seems to help with grip but can feel awkward if put in the wrong spot.

The color of these Grips match my 2017 5010 perfectly! Good job on the matchy matchy Santa Cruz! I like how they feel but they don't seem super durable, they may need to be replaced after a few months of hard riding. Overall would purchase again!

      Get a grip

So I got these grips off my 5010 and realized they aren't for big hands (large glove size). I will be upgrading to ergon grip dude too monkey hands.

The quality is nice, the rubber is grippy.
I hit a tree do to wide handle bars and it broke the rubber on the corner. Very unfortunate but it will happen to even the most elite brands.

Stick To Your Bike Like Spiderman

I've always had these grips and never wanted to change. They're good anti-fatigue on the hands, really allow you to grip the bars (honestly I've never slipped once), and come in a huge array of great colors to personalize your bike and make it as rad as possible. I have a green/yellow 2015 Bronson C frame and threw these on. It looks fantastic and super easy to pick out in a lineup. Also, as the grips age they don't tend to peel or get grimy.

        Tennis Yellow Grips!

These grips add some nice pop to my customer's otherwise stealth Bronson. Questions on bikes or gear? Hit me up!

        Easy Replacement

Great selection of colors if you want to spice up your bike, or if you just need to replace some shredded grips. Super easy to swap out, fits like a charm, and the clamp keeps out of the way with being on the inside, so you can use the full grip. There's nothing super special about these, but they're a great basic replacement grip for your ride!

Lock onto bar and don't move

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These grips are great, they are soft and tacky without being sticky. They also have the clamp only on the inside edge of the grip, allowing you to run your hands further out without grabbing a metal ring like on other clamp grips.

          sticky grips solid price

Solid little grips for a good price. I dig the single lock on look. The grip is really nice, I still like renthal kevlars better but these were worth it and about 14 dollars cheaper.

            grip it n rip it

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

these surprised me on how well they stay locked on the bar only having one lock ring. but dang.... they hold and hold well. they come in all of the colors as well and you cant beat the price .

            Couldn't help myself

            • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Wanted to make sure my Bronson stood out from the crowd in our bike room at the office. Pretty sure these were the perfect statement piece to do just that with my Kalimoxto frame!

            Couldn't help myself

They match my bike, were easy to install, and ride great!

            Sweeeet Pink (Magenta) Grips

The Grip you need and will love!

            • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Awesome tackiness on the Santa Cruz Palmdale Grips!!! No twisting or shifting - Very comfortable!! Easy installation as well! Fantastic colour options as well which is a bonus!!!

            Great grips.

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Grips aren't the sexiest part of a bike, but, along with the saddle, they're your interface to the machine. So get some good ones like these and enjoy riding. They've lasted well and are simple, well made, comfortable, and stay solid on the bike with s simple locking ring. Can't go wrong with the Santa Cruz Palmdale Grips.
