Staying comfortable on frosty rides isn't a task that should be taken lightly. Gale-force winds, and sudden downpour can take a toll on your kit, and leave you with a wicked case of the sniffles that stick around for weeks. That's why we think its important to make pieces like the POC Essential Road Thermal Tights a part of your getup when the weather is questionable. These winter-ready tights cover your gams with serious fabric that supports your muscles, cut through the wind and water, and offer a soft, brushed lining that traps heat within its fibers to keep you feeling toasty while you ride.
The Thermal Tights feature windproof front panels, and a 5000g/m² water resistance to keep you dry when cold showers roll through. They are constructed with a multi-panel fit, wrapping your muscles for support, while keeping seams out of the way thanks to their flat-lock construction. On top you'll find soft, elastic suspenders that comfortably stay in place without cutting into your shoulders, and a large mesh panel in back for boosting breathability when you warm up.

One ride-hem is coming undone
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The bad: I did one ride (20 miles) with these and the hem came undone! This is on the shoulder strap and eventually the whole edge will fall apart (the seam is continuous around both shoulders, back and front) The good: it was high 30’s (degrees F) with sustained winds and these kept me warm. The fit was also accurate for me. Will be contacting the company about either a refund or replacement pair (maybe this was a one-off defect)

Does as stated and fits well
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

The tights do everything as advertised. I went for a ride today in 34 degrees (F) with gusts of 25 mph, and didn't really notice the cold on my legs. They kept the wind out and kept me warm. They may be even be a bit too warm if it was 10–15 degrees warmer. Regarding the fit, I am 6'1" with an inseam of about a 34-35-ish, and the large fit me exceptionally well. The only downside I have experienced is a hem around the ankle cuff that has torn after only wearing twice. I don't know if it was user error or if it was a manufacturing issue, but that is an issue nonetheless.
