Why We Like The Pivot Vault Pro Ultegra Di2 Gravel Bike
Whether our route consists of asphalt, gravel, or dirt terrain, the Pivot Vault Pro Ultegra Di2 Gravel Bike is built to take on it all. This bike is constructed with a full carbon frame with a hollow core internal molding technology, providing a high stiffness-to-weight ratio and all-day comfort. Pivot's patent-pending ISO FLEX seat post technology keeps us pedaling with ease as we rack up the miles. Optimized for speed, the Vault Pro features internal cable routing for a sleek, aerodynamic look and geometry built for power.
We experience quick, smooth, and reliable shifting performance with the Vault Pro and its Ultegra Di2 groupset. It features a 48/32T chainring with a 12-speed, 11-34T cassette, providing us with a wide range of gear ratios for whatever terrain stands in our way. A BB386 EVO bottom bracket creates a more powerful and rigid feel during the ride and increases the rear wheel's tire clearance. Its wheel setup is complete with Maxxis Rambler TR Tan Wall EXO 700 x 40mm tires, but it's able to fit up to 700 x 47mm to ensure our setup is ready for an epic adventure.

Very Good Gravel Bike but….
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XL
Competitive Cyclist had a very appealing sale on this bike with two color options, two drivetrain options and a good selection of sizes. This is the first time I have purchased a “higher” end bike on line and I knew there are some drawbacks. Most notably, the convenience of relying on your local bike shop to get everything right. Competitive does an excellent job packing the bike and supplying a video to assemble the bike. Also, they state that the bike is completely built up and tested prior to packing for shipment. This is where my issues started because if the prebuilt and testing was done properly I would not have had problems. First, the rear rotor and caliber were not aligned properly. Not a big deal but something that should be easily caught with their prebuild. Second, I had the bike built up with road tires so I could get plenty of miles on it to sort out any fit and set up problems. Right off it was obvious the prebuild check out was lacking. There was a clanking noise in the frame even on pretty smooth roads. I suspected the Di2 battery installed in the downtube. I contacted Competitive and they suggested my LBS take a look and sure enough the battery was not secured correctly. Both Competitive Cyclist and Pivot customer support have been very good. I still have to follow up on a couple of other questions but they should not be anything major.
